What's the dumbest thing that someone told you about your blindness?

*sighh* I don't even know where to start or which one to pick, but I'll tell you something that's not as common as the others.

I was talking about my fashion choices and my favorite colors and on the topic of favorite colors I said:

"I've always seen black as a powerful color, you know?"

And this lady I barely know titters: "Of course, you see black..."

Me: "I can actually see light... 'blind' doesn't mean that I see nothing at all. I just can't see enough to function with sight."

Her: "Oooh I understand... so the limited white you see now makes you appreciate it more!"

I cringed. "Maybe don't headcanon things for me? I still like black."

"Is it because you're Black? you hate white people?"

... "You know what? yes. It's because of that."
