That's my actual note count at the moment. Just for the record, before Tumblr takes away everything, or/and delete my blog again. Thank you everyone!

hello!! i was wondering if there was a reason why you got rid of the way the note count changes on mobile?
i’m not exactly sure how to describe it but when i liked, reblogged or replied to a post, it used to change the amount of notes one by one with each digit and i think it would kind of flip up? kinda like how some digital clocks do
it was really satisfying to look at, especially when you got the 1000th note or something similar. i was just wondering why you changed it and if it was possible to change it back if there isn’t a reason? thank you so much!!! have a great day :DD
Answer: Hey there, @thesunanditsangel!
Gladly. So, essentially we removed it on iOS because it was causing rather a lot of trouble when we had to change the count, as the implementation was different from a normal text view.
Essentially this is because the current animation mechanism is fragile and difficult to maintain. For example, it would struggle with simple changes like supporting “0 notes,” or having a bold font. It was a regrettable change, but necessary.
We hope this helps answer your question. And have a good day!
Best,

im going to cry with how many notes my ac art got i don’t get that much notes on non-joke art ever im this gif
I always find your writing quarterlies so interesting! It's cool to keep track of actual statistics, rather than subvert to "ehh, I have a feeling that this kind of story does better than this one." I wish I had the patience to count everything up, but I was too prolific this past year and I can't count everything lol.
Thank you @idrelle-miocovani. I am happy you found it interesting!
I think the most interesting part is how much more popular a canon setting is - I simply think that there is a bigger chance an audience who has no relation to your OC will understand the premise?
I mostly do it to see if my notes increase as I feel myself getting better, but in some ways its hard to know if notes are a reflection of ‘better’ - it can also simply be ‘topic that more people are excited about’, as you said in your post today that might be subjective too.
I do think its fun to go through and just think about. I definitely think that if I were to maximize my note generation I should write angsty-fluffy inquisition timeframe smut, not exceeding 1500 words. (even if none of my top fics are exactly that, but looking at averages here).
It does take a little while to put together, but I put my stories into a spreadsheet as soon as I have completed them, then I just have to go get the notes. I initially kept the spreadsheet because I wanted to keep track of publication dates and word count. I am not sure what I will do as time passes, I have 90 tumblr fics now so it does take a while to get through. Some of my old fics I am not going to reblog and they are not going to get notes, and I don’t really want them on my masterlist but I want to be able to find them...
anyway, sorry this got long, thank you for your interest
