Twilight princess, Link is a disaster after Midna leaves, but he can't feel anything. It's been months, but he hasn't cried, he's barely emoted at all, he just... feels numb. He keeps busy helping the Resistance, but he's still just numb about everything, and going through the motions. But when they find some weird ruins, he perks up a little, because they seem like they could be influenced by Twili, and despite hesitancy from Shad, Link goes right in.

And next thing he knows he's waking up as a wolf and staring at a kid in raggedy clothes who looks just as confused as he feels.

He's been time-traveled to botw.

The story goes along, Link gets to trusting this kid, and the kid him. Link figures out what's going on, he realizes this kid is a hero like him, he helps him hunt for food and fight monsters, he nuzzles him when he gets a memory and comes out shaking, curls around him when he cries because he can't remember, feels less and less numb as this adventure goes on. He realizes at some point he could turn into a hylian if he wanted, but at this point it's... easier, to stay as a wolf. For both of them. This kid is like his brother now, and he doesn't want to break his trust.

Until one day when the Other Link does something stupid, fights something he shouldn't have, gets hit by a guardian, I don't exactly know. But the point is he's hurt, and badly, and by the time Link deals with the danger and gets to him he's actively dying. Link freaks out (he's come close before like this yes, but he's out of healing items, they were about to stock up--), he's about to lose somebody close to him, he's about to leave him, and he can't do anything about it again, and he turns from a wolf to a hylian because he can't do anything else.

Other Link is understandably shocked by this, but then he smiles and his last words are literally something like "somehow I knew you weren't just a wolf".

Other Link stops breathing, and Link just stares at him,not willing to process this, not willing to even entertain what this means. But then he starts glowing, and Link stares at him because he doesn't realize what Mipha's Grace does. Other Link hasn't had to use it yet.

It activates, and Link is staring in shock, and then Other Link opens his eyes and sits up, and probably says something stupid like "why are you looking at me like that"

And the dam finally bursts, and Link is crying, all of the stupid emotions he'd been plugging up and unable to acknowledge all come out right then and Other Link sort of just pats him on the back with not much clue what's going on, but the hugging is nice since dying is kind of traumatic actually.

I'm gonna match you with a Nicea AU that makes me particularly wild. It's horny in a subtle way but horny nonetheless so I'm gonna throw it under the cut.

So the Nicea AUs thus far are really just vehicles for goofy nonsense and sex lol and mostly have Spinder, Isabel, Tatya, and Fabian as the core cast. My favorite is burglar AU, in which there are warring mafiaesque factions and Fabian is a butler. The one that makes me bonkers, though, is a particular iteration of liege AU in which Isabel is a queen/noble and Spinder is her lady's maid, inspired/fueled by this post:

On the surface, there's nothing happening. They're not secretly banging or exchanging love letters or even both being naked in each other's presence. Everything is completely above board.

Which is what makes it so devastating every morning when he dresses her and every evening when he undresses her.

The tension is so omnipresent - so normal - that it's almost comfortable. Sometimes it feels like it's all in his head, that because she's the only one in various stages of undress, he's the only one who's looking. But a single meeting of glances in the mirror is enough to say otherwise. She would devour him, and he would let himself be devoured. He would do anything for her. He craves the opportunity to do something with all that he knows of her - not just her body but her life, the secrets she would never tell a soul but he knows all the same. All she has to do is ask.

But she will never ask. It's not as though she doesn't feel the same. Or as though she wouldn't take everything he offers and cherish it, revel in it. Or even as though anyone could stop her from asking in the first place. It's simply that there are lines that are not meant to be crossed. Lines that she will not cross, even when the longing in that glance gets to be too much. He cannot have her, and she cannot have him.

But maybe, just maybe, they already have each other.

Title: Power of Three, Rewrite

"There will be three kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws..."

Not Lionblaze, Jayfeather and Dovewing.

But Hazeltail, Mousewhisker, and Berrynose.

Who could have ever known that Daisy was a daughter of Luna, Firestar's other sister? That her three barn kittens where in fact, his grand-nephews and niece? It's knowledge that only StarClan has, until the Three are visited in a dream.

This was an idea that I had several years ago. I never gave it any serious thought so I don't have any of it plotted, but every now and then, I do think about it.

It would obviously be a massive AU. These three being The Three flips the entire Clan on it's head!

For starters, StarClan does not pressure Jayfeather to train as a medicine cat. Instead he is free to train as a warrior; but who must take his place? And what other ripples does his new role send out? (And where do Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, Dovewing and Ivypool fall here)

Secondly, they've just been told that they're descendants of Firestar, and they have to keep that a secret! Nobody sees this litter as anything special; whereas when Squirrelflight has her kits, cats can't stop commenting on what their futures could possibly hold. Bitterness definitely takes root when the other Clans, and sometimes even their own Clanmates, remark on their kittypet heritage.

Thirdly, they have some research to do. They didn't grow up hearing stories of StarClan or magnificent battles or legendary leaders. Sometimes the key to your future lies in your past, and in this AU, they need to uncover some old secrets.

And maybe it isn't their fault when Tigerstar begins to walk in one of their dreams; they weren't told the Terrible Tale of Tigerstar, after all...

This is definitely a fic that I would have to put a lot of thought into, if I ever wrote it. I don't see that happening anytime soon, but never say never!

Five or ten years after lu, the chain manage to get back together again, for either another crisis to avert, or just because Legend said "I have a heckin' ton of time travel items and nobody can stop me from using them however I want" and went to see how everyone was doing. Basically all of them are grown up, some are married, it would be fun :)

Linkeduniverse, a strange witch lady turns all the chain into woodland birds (for trespassing maybe idk), they have to deal with this until they can turn back.

I have no explanation for this apart from the fact that the mental image of Legend as a cardinal and Warriors as a bluejay was absolutely hilarious to me several years ago.

Lu again, all the Zeldas (and Malon, maybe Ilia) get captured or stuck together for some reason, but they easily escape, blast whoever captured them into smithereens, and by the time the chain realize what happened, they're all hanging out calmly at the ranch and drinking tea and discussing their respective Links.

He’s forgetful and hyperactive, and has a mean penchant for creating amazing soups and stews! It’s Link! The Hero of Stew!!!

He works as a delivery boy for some sort of restaurant (Lumpy Pumpkin-esque), which only works so well because he often forgets the address of where he’s going and also finds himself caught up in strange going-ons much more often than he would prefer. The only reason he hasn’t been fired is because somehow the stew always gets delivered in the end, and the owner’s daughter is his best friend.

...And I'm cheating a little because I've actually written a smidgeon of this one, but incredibles au again, basically how Time ended up caring for Warriors, how thier mom died and stuff. And a bit more about Time's childhood and everything as well. Angstier than it needs to be quite honestly heh
