‘ we can’t keep doing this. ’
accepting.
“ Why not? Kids won’t be home for awhile, right? ” Cheeky bastard ; playing coy in his effort of persuading Mrs. Wright to let him stay for a little longer. Words little more than a grumble, they slip from the back of her shoulder down her collarbone, his mouth inches from her ear. There’s a cocky smirk willing to bite but a hesitation due to her clear indication that keeps Roman from progressing further. His hands, however, fail to relinquish the grip he has on her hips.
“ …I can stop. We can talk instead. ”

it’s hard to believe, at least for madeline. since the moment she met celeste, they had been the best of friends. of course, she knew that more often than not, that madi talked about herself more than strictly necessary, but she didn’t think she was that self-absorbed as to have missed the signs. were there any ? was her bestie that good an actress, that adept at lying, that madeline simply didn’t see what was going on behind closed doors ? ‘ why didn’t you say anything ? ‘ she asked quietly, looking up from the coffee she cradled in her hand. she simply didn’t get it.

he knows the vibe of this town. it’s -- enjoyable, once you get past the eyes on you thing. sure, they always look away when he turns, but he can feel them easy enough. it’s nothing that he isn’t used to -- and, as always, there was some part that got a kick from the attention.
on top of that, it was good for business. his art sales and trade soared here with the money that people were willing to just fling around, looking for something to put in their house to talk about. something from this era, something that says this, something... that feels like me. he could fill all their requests.
his little shop had a couple things that he could risk being out, but not too many. everything else was locked up in the back, ready for purchase or art shows or going to museums. many people came through to look. he figured the person walking in would be no different; just a resident on a daily walk or coffee run. “ ----- can i help you find anything? “
