I've hardly made any original posts of my own here. To be honest, I haven't had much to say. I rarely do. But I've enjoyed every piece of art or literature I've reblogged.
Things may be bad now but they're a million times better than they used to be. I have to remind myself of that sometimes.
I guess if you interpret dorley hall as a metaphor for the collective culture and conditions that any tgirl community has (drama, sisterhood, specific beauty standards and forms of femininity being emphasized, especially by older trans women), that story works a bit better for me. I still don’t like the surgical focus, but it clicks better for me if it’s about the experience of entering a transfem community that you’re sort of literally stuck with due to your identity.
