What was the most recent book you read?
Completed? Or currently in the middle of? If we're going by fully-read, back cover slammed shut with a feeling of complete and utter accomplishment, then that would be "Misery" by Stephen King [I just finished going through a big King phase] Right now in my purse is "Mrs Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs. It's been really really good so far, I'm just having trouble finding the time to finish it up.
Describe your fashion style in 3 words.
What was your first fandom? OTP?
The first fandom that I truly remember freaking out about and obsessing over 24/7? The X-Files. I bought all the magazines, action figures, books, video games, barbie dolls that went along with it. I still have most of that stuff in a box somewhere, just because I don't have the heart to get rid of it. There's a 12-year old version of me still sitting up Sunday nights waiting for a new episode to air that would smother me in my sleep if I pitch that stuff. And, I mean, come on. Mulder and Scully are the grandparents of every other OTP on the face of the earth. Without Mulder and Scully, we wouldn't even have 'shipping.'
If you could change one thing about Tumblr, what would it be?
I would really like the ability to make notes on each user/url that I follow on here. Like, adding someone's name behind their url on the site in parentheses, or a birthdate or their OTPs for fandoms. Just little things that I have trouble remembering but would make conversing so much easier sometimes. I've always thought I'd make up an excel sheet to keep that kind of information available, but that seems like it would cross the internet friends line and enter stalker territory pretty quickly.
Do you speak another language? (If so, reply in that language!)
I took three years of Spanish in high school, but the only thing I remember how to say is "Yo tango pantalones azules," which means "I have blues pants."
What was your first concert?
I went and saw the BareNaked Ladies with my 3 sisters about 8 years ago. As much as I enjoy music, I can't really stand to listen to anything too loud, which is basically what you're signing up for when going to a concert. We had balcony seating which was nice. Since then I've been to a few more concerts, but I'd much rather stay at home watching telly then go to a concert.
What’s the mantra/saying/lyric that you live by?
Oh man, I don't think I have one right off the top of my head. With my depression, my moods bounce around so much that if I had a mantra, I'm sure it would change all the time. I guess if I need to generalize things and just try to calm myself in any stressful situation I have been known to repeat "One day at a time" to myself. I can get overwhelmed by things really easily, so sometimes I just need to close my eyes, take a deep breath and remember that there IS time to get what I ant done and I don't need to freak out about still being directionless in life at the age of 28.
