It pays to keep your peace when saying your piece...After calmly and respectfully admonishing my son's father for what I call neglect and blatant disrespect to my lil boy, the man apologized and promised to do better next time(s) around. Now, I report this for one reason and one reason only: to encourage any woman on Earth whose found herself in a co-parenting situation--eliminate the drama and keep head UP! The reality: When I stay in my place, so does he. The days of making him wrong and carrying on in the drama are long gone. I keep in mind there are two little growing people watching my every move--even the ones they don't see. I've done it the angry way long enough to no avail. Treating him as a human, holding compassion in my heart and connecting with the reality that we do the best we can, on the level that we are, with the know-how we have...this helps me to approach him in love, and hold myself as love in the matter. The circumstances do get better when you decide to do better.
(And yes, I realize there are cantankerous men on Earth who have no desire to take responsibility for their actions--again--that's not for you to take on. You have better things to do--like live well in the face of adversity).
