This is the outfit I was wearing to work today. A skirt of acceptable length with black tights and baggy blouse. I also had knee high boots on. I have never ever been told that I dressed inappropriately or unprofessionally while my Ops Manager was in the office. He recently left and the woman in charge asked me to leave work, and go home to change. She deemed my choice of outfit ‘inappropriate’. Her reasoning? I already deal with inappropriate comments from the members of the public that I deal with on a daily basis and I’m not helping myself. I get these comments even in trousers and huge jumpers. The comments made are not due to the way I dress but the kind of people who make them. I am now going to be late for my morning appointments thus providing a poor service to my members. Raging isn’t the word. What I wear does not give the right for people to make inappropriate comments, least of all to be the reason I get sent home. #dresscode #itsneverok #inappropriateworkattire #nothingwrongwithwhatimwearing #workattire #innappropriatemanagement #raging #dontblamemyclothes #innapropiatewordsnotclothes *Please excuse my dirty mirror.* (at Coventry, United Kingdom)
