turns out that when you go your whole life being rarely angry and then you discover many things to be righteously angry about, you have not built up the emotional muscles necessary to regulate your anger

#like I’m glad I’ve not been an angry person it’s made my life very easy #and even now I don’t lash out or outwardly express the anger #but let’s just say I’m in my bruce banner era #once I have assented to anger it is very difficult to shake it off. it doesn’t interfere with my behavior #noticeably #but it does interfere with my inner life in a most unwelcome manner #perhaps one’s twenties are about mastering their emotions #and discerning whether we are actually in control or merely inexperienced #I think distraction is perhaps the same way #I’ve always been able to hyper focus on a given task and I now wonder if that was not out of self-discipline but rather lack of distraction #true distraction. mental & emotional distraction #the more I read of great thinkers the more I realize my thoughts are not organized at all nor do I know where to begin organizing them #it’s hard work #it’s admirable work #mobile #x #anyways that’s my lunch break existential crisis
