Last Words
Send me “Last Words” for a letter my character intended for yours to read only after mine has died.
Aurora sat down and needed to write. She was so scared of what the letter meant though.
~~~~~~
"Dear Jane,
I hope this letter never gets sent, because if it does, it means I’m dead. There’s no getting around it.
I’m sorry if we got into any fights.
I’m sorry if I missed a birthday or holiday.
I’m sorry we didn’t get to know each other better.”
~~~~~~
Aurora looked up from her letter and blinked a few times, her eyes were watering with words she couldn’t write. A knot formed in the pit of her stomach as she wondered how to write the rest of her letter.
~~~~~~
"Jane, I wherever my soul ends up, whether in Heaven, or roaming the Earth, I won’t forget to look over you every once in a while.
Please don't cry, when I am gone. The world has enough sadness in it without the tears of a friend. That's what you are, you know. A friend.
I hope I told you that at some point.
There are so many things I wished or hoped to do, please don't live like I did. Never have regrets.
With love,
Aurora Habsburg un Gothe"
~~~~~~
Aurora sighed, lifting her trembling hand away from the letter. With any luck, this letter would never be sent.
At least that's what she hoped would happen as her hands lifted the paper to help dry the last of the ink.
When it was all dry, she folded it up, and went to the library. Opening up a tome of the History of the Joust, she stuffed the letter in there.
Someone would find it.
Eventually.
