Drawing Session Scribbles -- Hotel Redemption

Finally getting around to posting these, forgot that was something I can do--

Ignore that it took me like over a year or something to finally draw these guys, but I adore the Hotel Redemption series by @lovesart23 (it's a playlist on their YouTube, highly rec it's a great time) and absolutely had to draw some the characters (It's just the Lucifer Family at the moment, my bias stays true lmao, always my favourites in every one of these types of stories, going strong)

Still want to work on how exactly I draw these guys, but I had so much fun with them, these characters are in my head daily I think about them so much, again I don't know why it took me this long to finally draw them because of that pfff. And yes Luu has a bias he's so fun to draw, and I'm excited to learn more about all of these characters and the rest of the cast (who I hope to draw eventually, just need the time to do it rip)

shoutout to siblings in stories theyve never given me emotional damage ever (lie, its every time im excited and afraid), I'm clawing at the walls with excitement every time we get a crumb of information on this family, especially from their different POVs

Actually yes I'm going to ramble aimlessly about them more, but I'll put that below the cut to save space.

Okay so, I have no idea where to start so this is going to get messy, but I'll just be, yk, yapping back and forth about these guys (again mainly the Lucifer Family, I love all these characters but these four stole my heart they're some of my favourite types of characters)

Starting right off with the history this family has. Not even just in regards to the recent years of the story, but like, outright. Hundreds of nephilim kids, and now to their knowledge only the two they had presumably generations later (in vampire math time, because, well, that’s how they seem to work) are the only ones known to still be alive??? Yeah no wonder Lilith overindulged in keeping Lily safe, after having thousands of kids, at the time Lily was the only one she knew for certain she still had. Also Lucifer joining in too to some extent, I see you there sir, the eternal divine rage is put aside for the family, even if you wish she’d been raised differently in the end.

And then there’s Luu, who seems to be in this weird stagnant middleground. He’s noted to be raised with more interest in making him Lucifer’s replacement, and that he just wants his father to be proud of him (ow ok my heart). Plus there’s the note that Lilith is the parent he’s around the most (shocker, Lucifer wont leave the damn castle lmao) but it’s mainly due to her training and accompanying him with royal duties (shoutout to him being 17 years old coded and basically keeping the Pride ring from imploding).

The two of them hardly know each other on top of that, the vampire-version of a ten year age gap. They know of each other, but don’t really seem to genuinely know each other (i’m not crying shhh). I don’t think we’ve gotten much look into what Lily thinks of Luu (cheers to the YouTube community tab seemingly only allowing so many posts that it purges old ones :[ ) but we do know what Luu thinks of Lily. Estranged and constantly off in her own fantasies, he thinks the idea of sinners being redeemed is insane. But considering the pessimist mindset, hating the sinners that he’s constantly having to put up with and that I’d imagine with the exterminations, being in Hell would always have the feeling of pressure and weight of eyes from above with Heaven. Yeah I kinda get why he thinks that, and it’s a fun contrast between the siblings with the optimist and the pessimist.

Then there’s Lucifer and Lilith. One who refuses to ever leave the Castle because he’s eternally sulking, and the other who loves him so unfathomably much that it’s painful to see him go through this. And it’s not one-sided, both clearly love each other very deeply, with there being notes like how the two of them both decide to hide their affection in public to keep up appearances with the citizens, their don’t ask don't tell relationship (so much love and trust to do that), and how in Lucifer’s introduction in part2 he’s noted to despise humanity, except one, and im fairly certain that is referring to Lilith (noting that ‘she’ is long past being human anymore, I can only imagine Lilith). And they certainly spend time together, one of the more recent community tab posts Lovesart has posted has them both sharing a drink while the extermination rages on in the background, good for them lmao. Just the notes of Lilith still sneaking off to the human realm having her own personal sad note with the fact that Lucifer doesn’t join her anymore. She misses him so bad they must’ve had fun with whatever they do up there (she does have Asmodeus with her and those two seem to have a great time messing with people on Earth, but just, she misses doing this with Lucifer as well, ough my heart).

Also I try to read every comment in the videos and community tab posts (have I mentioned this is a hyperfixation of mine that's still going strong?) and there have been some fun notes, shoutout to Lucifer, mister 70% rage and 30% ‘other’ which is split between the family, the indistinct ‘other’ is so funny to me, but it seems to be the only neutral/positive emotions he has. Mans is just an angry, moping and annoyed guy. And a comment from one of the community tab posts that got drowned by YouTube that had Lucifer lamenting poetically about his situation, and then instantly like, sitting up the second Lilith asks if he wants to make out, they love each other your honour there's something (lovingly) wrong with them hope it never changes. I think it went like:

“I am all in a sea of wonders, I dream, I think strange things, things which I dare not confess to my own soul.”

“Wanna make out?”

“Very much yes.”

Also another note regarding the entire family actually, is the fact that Lily only returns home for birthdays and holidays? Considering that Luu was raised with the intent of being Lucifer’s replacement seemingly because Lily abandoned all her duties, I’d wonder when she actually left home to start the Redemption program? Like, considering the two are 226 (Lily) and 115 (Luu) respectively, and Luu is considered to be 17 years old coded (I think there was an old post with the approximation of Lily being coded somewhere in the 20s range, but I can’t remember and sometimes question whether its my own mind playing tricks on me, rip) and that the two didn’t have a lot of interaction as Luu was growing up, I think she’d left at some early point of that if not before? But then it’s like, she’s had a Lot of time and no progress, possibly multiple decades with like, no-one there? Since despite Fonda dying in 1933, I highly doubt he immediately ended up at her Hotel, and Iris fell in 2018, which is noted to be five years ago, so the story is somewhere in 2023-2024 range. Not sure how long it would’ve taken for her and Lily to find each other, but assuming it took them a while to confess feelings, I’d put an assumption that they’ve known each other for like, three of them? Again it’s speculation and me thinking really hard about a story I love, I don’t know if I’m getting anywhere lmao.

But yeah with the guests it makes me think it was a more recent development, but it has to have been there a while since from some comments it seems that the Hotel is (lovingly) a bit run-down, so there was probably some refurnishing and time spent actually developing the entire idea, but guests are only a more recent development (in terms of Iris and Fonda, who seem to have been there the longest, considering in the Lily and Alastor deal storyboards Lily talks about Fonda being the only current resident, and in the introduction video Iris is said to be on the staff) and only after talking with Alastor do the rest of the Hotel cast arrive. Which because again Iris and Fonda are already there so this is, a very recent thing and the story seems to be starting to kick into motion at this point (in terms of Lily’s story, since I’d assume there is constantly plot-relevant things going on that don’t get the spotlight until later episodes/seasons). So yeah I, am very curious as to when Lily initially left, hell even when she first got the idea. Did she talk to her parents about it? Did she keep it to herself? Did she run away, or was this a known thing?

I have, so many questions that I can’t comprehend in my own mind lmao this has been a hyperfixation ever since that first introductions video dropped, so I’m super excited to see where the project goes, as well as the other projects Lovesart works on, there’s clearly a ton of thought and passion in each one so I’m excited for whatever is next <3 happily supporting through being a channel member (the only yt membership I have, worth it) and I’m likely to draw and talk about these guys again. But I’m stopping for now because, I’ve gone on long enough for today and I have work rip <3

deltarune -- FAILED HEROES AU

Welcome to my elaborate dessriel hyperfixation pit, ft my friend Hover because we are inseparable and they know deltarune more extensively than I do lmao

But uh this is focused around the concept of Dess's character before the events of deltarune, and her experience, alongside Asriel and a young Kris, of exploring the dark worlds long before the story began.

This AU follows a lot of our personal headcanons and what we see of these characters, and all will be explained in due time. For now, I just wanted to show the sketches I've been working on for the AU.

Mainly the Light World designs for Asriel and Dess!

First up, we have Asriel! A lot of softer/rounded shapes to contrast Dess's far sharper design. He wears a green and white varsity jacket with a few custom patches that he and Dess made together, patches being of Dragon Blazers 2, Yoshi and a Puppy respectively. He has a simple black shirt with the triforce from The Legend of Zelda on it, as well as a simple pair of shorts. Still debating on the Heart Locket, both in terms of if he has it and the fact that if he does, is it for Kris or Chara and Frisk (if Kris, he has it during the story, if Chara and Frisk, he got it in College and doesn't have it in the story). He has fur-dye tattoo-esque markings based on his UNDERTALE Hyperdeath form, and the bottom of his ears are dyed a slight green!

And we have Dess!! She's a very detailed design, but one of my favourites. She wears custom-edited clothing, with the only basic piece in her attire being the plain black crop top she wears. Her jacket and pants are littered with personal design through custom patches, embriodery and attaching scraps of metal to the clothing. Notable choices are that she also has a Dragon Blazers 2 patch, and one of the Delta Rune, not that she's interested in the prophecy, its just a cool symbol that she thought would look fun (and has no weird feelings over later in the story). Her jacket does have a hood, and its deeply awkward to wear because of her horns, but it's really cool human culture (something she has an interest in) so she keeps it. Everything is custom designed, even down to her cutting her own hair and piercing her own ears. She lives by the 'do it yourself' mentality.

So yeah! There's a really basic first-look at what I'm working on, and some sketches that I'm super proud of. Can't wait to talk about Failed Heroes more! Dessriel my beloved

Drawing Session Scribbles, Hotel Redemption style (again)

I have done a bunch of scribbles and just, not posted them, whoops. But let's fix that!! Again, this story and its characters are from a Hazbin Hotel Overhaul by @lovesart23, letting it be known that I am basing all my drawings/scenes on the little teasers that have been given in the Overhaul videos and in the creator's community tab. Simply my own imagining of events. With that in mind, here's what I've worked on!!

Yes I'm still drawing the Lucifer fam, you'll see them everywhere I have no shame in saying they're my favs <3 but I also wanted to draw the angel designs, and man they're so fun!! I struggled a bit at first but once I got the hang of it, theyre so satisfying to draw?? Such a win, and they're all really unique from each other yet feel so cohesive, truly incredible character design. Interested to see and learn more about them!! And Uriel I know looks at ao3 keep away from my account sir <3

Then I did a like, really simple visualisation of Lily and Lilith, kinda just like they're at a gathering and Lily does Not want to be there. Also drew this to kinda figure out their height differences more, but uh, still not there yet, wow Lilith is tall lmao

But here are my first attempts at Iris, Fonda, Sachiko, Max and Alastor! The bug designs have my whole heart, I haven't drawn that many bug designs despite calling everything a bug (especially angels, those are bugs trust) so ah they were so nice to draw. I love Max's fire hair and blocking out the shadows with Alastor's design was quite enjoyable as well. Love them all, I'm sure nothing bad will happen to any of them, not like they're in Hell or anything yknow

And last but not least I practiced drawing scenes based off of the scenes we've been shown in lovesart's community tab + instagram posts, but with my two favourite non-tragic siblings who have no strained relationship at all (its so strained, im so worried over them)

Again-- making it known this is my interpretation of a scene between them. This isn't anything official!! going to make that clear just in case, It's just my idea of a hypothetical fan-scene between these guys, ok? cool <3

here is what I'd probably have the dialogue of sorts as, so enjoy that lmao:

lily: so uh… did you visit to see the hotel or…? luu: uhhhhhhhhh… welllllllllll- (luu explaining awkwardly that he's here because lucifer sent him) lily, knowing its because her dad refuses to be anywhere near sinners: of course he did

So yeah!! That's the sketches from the last few scribble sessions ive had after work and in my spare time. I truly love these characters and what we've been teased about the story, and am excited to see where it all goes next!!
