I’ve always been a little camera shy. I would rather be behind the camera taking the pictures than the other way around. I thought this was a fairly recent phenomenon...at least adulthood, and then I started looking back on pictures of me as a child and I realized that no, it has always been a thing. I can’t imagine what my mother was feeling the day these pictures were taken, but it sums me up pretty well. I want to apologize now for throwing my brother around, but he’s always been pretty tolerant of my behavior. And the picture with the goats. Well there really are no words, are there? So this is me. I’m pretty much the same awkward kid I was then, I’m just older in body. And I’m good with it. And being a goof is a pretty big part of who I am on a daily basis. I’ve learned to take that part of me and embrace it. It’s the one thing that has remained constant. We all need consistency right? Embrace your awkwardness, your goofy you, whatever little quirks make you, well...you. And take the pictures. Goofy or not, because those are what will make our kids, friends and family laugh, make them remember the good part of us. The part that makes them smile when they think of us.
