Hale was sitting in the rec room, his fingers a little red from having not put his mittens on soon enough. The ones his mom sent from home that weren’t knitted very well, but held some sentimental value. The days were getting longer, and the kids on campus were slowly fading off, leaving the entire area a little colder. He tried not to let it get to him, but with the kids went his school friends, and while they weren’t the greatest friends in the world, they fulfilled a purpose. Now all that was left was the new guy. Which... Wasn’t a bad thing. Or maybe it was. He couldn’t afford to think about it too much right now.

The two were dressed identically, the same Calgary Flames jersey, complete with the same number and everything.
