Today's task for #jcfmay is to share a #bookmark as a prop. I am sharing my go-to FAVORITE bookmark, and some of the new #bookmarks that I got from Erin @bibliophileprints! 😄😍❤ . . . . My go-to FAVORITE is the "Every Day Is Full of Emotions" Disney-Pixar Inside Out bookmark, which I have x2! They're shown with the books I am reading today: Carnival in a Fix by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre and Not a Girl Detective by Susan Kandel. 😍❤😍 . . . . Then we have, from left to right, some of my bookmarks from Erin: "I am going to die surrounded by the biggest idiots in the galaxy"; "Books are my friends, my companions. They make me laugh and cry and find meaning in life."; and "Adventure is out there!" 😍❤😍 . . . . Max is missing from the bookmark photo because he was across the room from me, out of sight. #MiddleGradeMay Update! So I just "finished" Oliver and the Sea Monkeys by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre, and it was EXACTLY the same as Oliver and the Seawigs. From my last post, I know from @jabberworks (Sarah McIntyre) that their U.S. Publishers were responsible for the title change. 🤔 Why Yearling Humor?! . . . . I personally like the Oliver and the Seawigs title from @randomhousekids better than Oliver and the Sea Monkeys, especially because the Seawigs are uber-important to the story, while the Sea Monkeys are secondary - or even tertiary - characters at best! 😠 . . . . Also, though the art was the same, I like it better in Oliver and the Seawigs, too. There, it was blue, black, and white. In Oliver and the Sea Monkeys, it was just black and white. 😑 . . . . But the story was exactly the same. If you can't see the note on the bottom of Oliver and the Sea Monkeys in Photo One above, scroll to Photo Two, where you can see it close-up. . I'll only rate Oliver and the Seawigs on Goodreads - 5⭐, as indicated earlier - because I didn't truly read Oliver and the Sea Monkeys. Once I realized that the text and illustrations were the same, I just went through both books to make sure all the text matched up in both books. And it did. 😊 . . . . I finished my first book for #MiddleGradeMay [at least two hours ago, *hehehe*]! And Oliver and the Seawigs by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre was pretty great. A nicely suspenseful story and fabulous illustrations, I will give it five stars. (Four for the really enjoyable story, plus a bonus star for the illustrations.) 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . Next up for me will be another Middle-grade book, book two in the #NotSoImpossibleTales series! (Or maybe book one again, as I think I have a revised [and updated?] version of it out from my library, too.) 😄❤ . . . . But first, I should probably read more of Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski. (I think I stopped mid-paragraph in Chapter Two last night in favor of starting the pictured middle-grade book. 😕😨) 😉❤ . . . . Update! I'm posting this at least two hours after I started writing it. I've made, eaten, and cleaned up after lunch and finished Chapter Two in Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski. 😊 I've also already started Oliver and the Sea Monkeys, the revised edition of the pictured book.
