Calypso’s is more actions, but subtle. She has rules she follows, unsworn but unbroken and Davy Jones is her exception to each of them. When she’s with him, she watches him with eagle eyes and if she spots something slightly amiss (a faded tunic, a chill he cannot shake, a wistful mention of bread) she will give him something to improve it (a new tunic with embroidered borders, a new scarf made from sea foam that guards him from the sharp bite of ocean wind, a still-warm loaf that appears by his side in the middle of a hard day) but won’t give it directly. She cares for him, directly if she must, but holding her attention is enough, the way her eyes always linger on him, how she’ll seek out some touch, even if she’s just dropping in to say hello.
Davy Jones likes touch, probably, and words. He takes comfort in the former and simply likes the latter, likes telling Calypso that she is the only goddess he will swear himself to, if only she lets him. He likes hearing her praise him, in whatever way, replays those moments in his mind in fondness. He knows the gifts that pop up are from her and appreciates each one, but doesn’t bring it up directly after the first. He soaks in touches, is always reluctant to stop them, even if his captain is stepping on deck and cannot see him slacking (Calypso could get him out of that trouble, of course, but he does not want to be a remarkable sailor because he’s made a lover of a goddess).
