Okay, so he was definitely maybe crying. And definitely heavily inebriated.
Morty was gone. No note left, unable to be tracked. Plain and simply gone. It came without warning too. No signs of blood, or anything out of place. Just the absence of his constant companion and toxic sidekick- and it threw him off the rails immediately. Fear, anger, and a strange sense of protectiveness engulfed him immediately, and his stolen phone was out before he even began to search for the other.
“J-J-Jessica- stop screaming, it’s R-iiUGH-ck. D-Do y’know where, uh, Morty is? I-It’s fucked up, I don’t- I can’t find him right now.”
Stay strong Morty. Hopefully he'll get bored and take up Bird watching or something to occupy his time.

His foot COLLIDED into the middle of the alien’s chest, sending the short creatures into the dirt with no EFFORT on his part. His boot DIGS into the junction of the alien’s throat, his favored pistol pressing hard into the fat rolls of the alien’s neck. No one came here to THREATEN him. No one tried ROBBING Mortimer Smith in these neck of the woods. If they did, they DIED. No doubt about that.
“I’m curious to know what was going through your head...” His words aren’t so broken, speaking to the would-be thief in its native tongue. The alien says nothing, hands still raised in a POOR attempt at surrender. The creature KNEW what it was doing; sure, they didn’t know that Mortimer was more than capable of taking care of himself in these situations, but pulling a KNIFE on him was what drew the line. “You think you deserve to LIVE?” Frankly, no. The alien didn’t.
Which is why it was so EASY putting a bullet through their throat.
