I know I'm not the norm in the bear community. I don't have a barrel chest, tones of body hair, muscles or a gut. I have always identified as a cub a smaller, less hairy version of a bear. Am I the butches guy no but then again there are bears that are not either. I went from a bigger cub of 300lbs to a smaller but healthier 160's - I still identify as a cub and probably will keep it as it's part of who I am. Being part of this community helped me find a place I could fit in when society told me I was not part of the norm because I was gay. It's sad now that there are some in our own community that want to discriminate against those that don't fit a bear clone version. Yes my features are softer, my eyes are big and expressive and I'm a more compact version of myself. How I choose to label myself is my choice. If you don't agree then move on to the next stereotypical guy. Those that fought for our rights in the past so we could be openly gay, have rights of freedom of choice & freedom to be who we are inside would be ashamed. In this day and age where turn on eachother to push ones out we don't view as the norm with in our own community. #CubAndProud 🐻 #MyChoice 🏳️🌈 #MyVoice 🐾 #NotYourAverageBear 💙 https://www.instagram.com/p/BtnHp17gme-tcoyoe_TsAz5iF2L_121dsI0Sy80/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=my01kxlgzq18
