I'm Coming Home || Dean & Amy || CLOSED ||
Monster, monster, monster. Monster.
The words echo loudly and his hand tightens on the steering wheel until his knuckles turn pallid. His thoughts race and his mind swarms. He hasn't been home in ages and he certainly doesn't expect a warm welcome. He's not even sure if he actually wanted one anyways. During his leave from home a lot had happened. He had put a lot of responsibility on Sam by making him deal with things that were supposed to be his responsibility. Dean supposed he never really was good with spreading out his attentions evenly. All his life it had been a kind of straight-forward situation – Sammy and the goal at hand. It hadn't ever really been spread out in a way that called for his every attention and thinned out his ability to do certain things. Now, it was supposed to be: the kid, Janet, Sammy, Castiel, and the goal at hand. He hadn't dealt well with it.
He had warned Janet about that, though. That to expect him to be able to do well with this wasn't exactly going to go over well. He had informed her of the past times he had attempted the normal thing and how it had wound up in a pretty...nasty situation. A situation that ended with Castiel altering their memories and wiping Dean from their lives forever. Lisa and Ben were the past – but they were most certainly a past Dean wasn't going to let go. They were always there in the deepest, darkest recesses of his mind, haunting him wherever he went. Janet didn't seem to mind. At least, with how they had eventually worked it out, it seemed that way. Dean had enough faith in her to believe that. But, this, he wasn't sure if she had expected this. Or better yet – how were she and Amy going to receive him. Almost three years without a direct word from him. Sammy always playing the messenger and the middle-man, caught up in a tense situation that couldn't be anywhere near comfortable.
Monster. Monster. M O N S T E R.
Before he knew it he sat in the front yard of a familiar house, the Impala's engine in neutral as he sat there with his fingers trembling against the wheel. It had to end now. The running, the lying – everything.
It had to end here.
He turned the Impala off and reached for one of his sleeves. Pushing it up a bit he brushed his thumb over a raised scar along his skin. It's warm and he can't help but to make a face of disapproval toward himself. He continued to do this for a few good moments before he finally stepped out of his car and slammed the door behind him. Dean then proceeded to jerk down his sleeve, stuff his hands in the pockets of his dark blue jacket, and walk on to the front door of the home.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Three different tones in the way he used to do it to signal it was him and not a stranger. His eyes scan over the door and Dean can't help but to feel a pang of guilt. He had come here knowing what secret he bore, knowing what he was and how it could pose a threat to them all. Yet, he had still come. And if something were to happen – well, it was on him. No one answered. The hunter eventually resorts to pushing open the door himself and stepped into the home, bright green eyes scanning the area.
“Janet?” He called.
Nothing.
“Amy?” His voice raised a bit then, eyes sweeping slightly more frantically over the empty room.

"Hey, sweetie. Bit late to be running around out here. You all right?" Hicks asked, watching the girl with concern. He hadn't seen her around there before, which only served to make him more worried, but he covered it with a smile in spite of it.
