He got the dagger tattoo (and why it’s such a big deal)
So many baby larries around this year! I thought it would be a good moment to put a few informations together to help people to understand a little deeply a few events around 2014/2015.
Sometimes it's a bit hard to understand the meaning of things without the actual context, so that's what I'm trying to do here. 2014 was the year we saw them actually fighting back their closeting and being so much in control of their label/management. No only H&L, but all the boys. There was definitely some build up of events and whole lot of push and pull was happening behind the scenes. A few larries like to call all the "fighting back" between 2014/2015 big gay war (thanks lorna) and this is a very small part of it. It’s just one event of many - I'm hoping to put together the most important ones together at some point but that's a start.
For the context: Big gay war consisted in basically for every narrative that was being imposed on them, there was a response. Like moves and countermoves.

About the tattoo itself: We believe many of their tattoos are complementary, at this point it's quite hard to analyse it and don't see the same running theme going on, but it doesn't really matter for this case specifically though. And the meaning of the tattoos doesn't matter either. We're not talking about theories here, we're going through facts. The dagger tattoo is important because of context and why Louis got it. Harry got his rose tattoo on September 10th 2013. Before all the gay war events.
Cool, nothing special. By then, larries were already going kind of crazy for all “matching tattoo” thing and we were all like “lol what if louis gets a dagger to match the rose” - and that's basically because we found out they got all their tattoos from this website, so that would be the next most logical tattoo.
Anyways, it was a joke between many of us, and it was HUGE, everyone was very loud about it. The joke went on for months and months. Here's a few examples of many many maaaany tweets on twitter and there was also a lot of posts on tumblr about it.
Back to 2014, we had a lot of events going on at the same time when Louis got the dagger, but I'm going to be pointing out only the ones about Louis during this time period:
