[Gwen was never one to go to coffee shops, trusting someone else with their drinks was always a troubling situation… But at the moment they might as well have been dying from exhaustion. So they supposed it wouldn’t be a problem, just this once.]

[Entering the small building, they took a quick glance around. There weren’t too many people inside, maybe three or four spread out throughout the various tables, so that was a good sign— Not too many eyes to worry about as they ordered. The cashier seemed friendly enough, or at least not annoying, as they told him their order; but as they spoke, they couldn’t help but hear distant sniffling. It sounded like the person was trying to hold back tears, as they were in a public space. And while they weren’t someone who would comfort another person on a whim… They were feeling generous thanks to their tired state.]

[They ended up purchasing a sweeter coffee flavour for the other person; It was vanilla, something simple. A flavour most people liked, and was paired with a small creamer design. They were sure the barista meant for it to be a cat, but given that coffee swirls… It turned out to be quite silly. Taking both beverages, they sat down in front of the other, taking in their appearance. Two toned hair, much like their own… Even though this person’s was a blue and purple combination, compared to their traditional black and white.]

[Gwen slid the drink towards them as they rested their elbows on the table— Laying their head on their hands. They put on a small, friendly looking smile before speaking.]

“It isn’t very fun to cry in such a welcoming environment, hm? What could have you so upset in a place like this?”

"Well, well. Look what we have here ~" Crooned the young woman glancing down with a wide friendly smile. Raising her hand so that she could reach the vividly flushed cheek whose warmth compacted magnificently against the icy coldness of her fingers, Irina slid her fingertips across her white skin gently to make it melt with affection. "You look so adorable from this view, you'd even look like a porcelain doll." The demon giggled by giving the tip of her nose a little nudge with her index finger.

Pushing aside her brown bangs streaked with pink like strawberry shortcake, the blonde exposed the little girl's exposed face to get a better look at her. "You have reddish cheeks like the dolls of my country, a nice little nose... and juicy lips that simulate the shape of a big heart; just as big and good as yours, containing only all human humility." She grinned happily to cup Nova's cheeks, playfully pinching them gently. "Aah... ~ I'm envious~ You are so stunningly beautiful... If you dare to say that you are ugly once again, I will kill 5 people for every time you say it. It is understood?" She claimed in a mocking tone, however, the serious and clear undertone of the threat was noticeable.

"There, there. Don't take it too seriously either." Laughing, Irina patted her head gently to snuggle her closer in her lap. "You are a very precious friend to me... I have never met a human as good as you and that is fascinating! You make me feel human again, like when I was still a little girl pretending not to have that demonic half in my DNA that I can't always control now... For the first time in so many years, every time that passes I fear death and being able to lose you forever... It would be a dream come true to be able to enjoy your company forever, and laugh together as if we were little girls without worries on their shoulders."

He pulled Nova close and hugged her tightly.

“Are you ready, Nova? Tonight will be quite the joyous outing for the two of us. My, I must say you clean up nicely in that dress. It was made for you to wear it,” he enclosed his arms around her almost possessively. “It upsets me a bit that others dining at the restaurant will see you in such formal attire, but just know that I will never let you out of my sight. Besides,” a forefinger gently glided over the marred column of her neck, “everyone will know who you belong to.”

The birthday celebrant wasted no time in kissing the cotton candy-haired girl on the forehead before heading out the front door, arms interlocked and gazing affectionately into each other’s eyes. 

When they arrived at the five star restaurant, the waiter promptly seated the couple to a private table outside on the terrace, shaded under the canopy as the sun kissed the horizon and lit the world a brilliant orange sorbet with accents of lavender purple the color of pale orchids. Once they were alone, Ruki faced his lover with a knowing smirk, adjusting the collar of his blazer to just barely expose the chiseled clavicle that peeked out.

“Say, Nova. Do you remember the last time we dined outside? I’m certain you do. The touch of my hand against your thigh is unforgettable, after all. Not to worry, though. I’ll keep our date for tonight tame… for now. What do you think of his view?” He averted his gaze for just a moment to watch the cityscape from uphill atop the balcony. “It has its charms, but the real beauty is sitting before me.”

"Uh..." Fidgeting nervously, Nova walked up to Ruki with a distraught expression. She never thought that this day would come. As much as she thought about the future, children were barely on her mind. "I don't know... how to say this. To be honest I... I'm still in shock but..." Tears began forming in her eyes, looking up at him like a lost puppy. She could barely speak before she began sobbing. "Ruki I... I'm having a child." She spoke slowly, wiping at the tears that kept spilling. "I don't know what to do... I'm not ready to be a mother. I can't raise children... not me." Nova kept on sobbing uncontrollably, hiding her face in the fabric of his shirt. This was truly a hard situation.

"Nova? Why are you crying—" When Ruki heard the reason why the pink-haired girl had so many tears streaming down her face, his eyes widened in unbelievable shock. Utterly bewildered, the Vampire held Nova tight in his arms, wiping her soaked cheeks with a gentle hand.

"You're pregnant...? I'm at a loss for words. Certainly I didn't expect this in the slightest, but nevertheless... How wonderful. I can't believe it myself, but if it's true then of course I will support you no matter what. Motherhood must be quite intimidating for someone who still attends school, but mark my words, we will get through this together." Ruki reassured in a soft tone as he stroked her taffy-colored locks.

"And not another word about how you aren't cut out to be a parent. Just trust in me and we'll make all the preparations necessary to welcome our child into the world."
