Sex Novarity
Sex novarity is the rejection of the sex binary and the choice to view one's sex as a collection of characteristics and organs.
Those who have a novaritine sex do not classify their sex as male or female, but rather by the collection of their gonads, genitalia, hormone dominance, and secondary sex characteristics.
These characteristics can be abbreviated as Gonads-Genitalia-Hormones. Secondary sex characteristics can be stated based on their importance to the individual.
The characteristics can be abbreviated as such:
Gonads: O = Ovaries, T = Testes, I = Intersex, N = None.
Genitals: V = Vulva, P = Penis, I = Intersex, N = None.
Hormones: E = Estrogenized, A = Androgenized, S = Both, N = None.
OVE is typically considered perisex cissex female, and TPA is typically considered perisex cissex male.
I wrote a full categorization of sex characteristics and organs here.

Anovaratine / Anovarity
Anovaritine individuals are agonader, ageniter, ahormoder, and adeuter. Such an individual has no genders relating to sex characteristics or maleness / femaleness in any way.
Xenovaritine / Xenovarity
Genders relating to reproductive roles, sexual roles, and cosmetics, but these genders are outside of the traditional gender novarity.
Some xenovaritine gender examples:
Faunagonader: One has an "animalistic" reproductive and parental role, and may feel as though one has a non-human connection to their child and reproduces in a non-human way.
Wintergonader: One's reproductive and parental role is most strongly felt during winter or is connected to winter in some way.
Demongeniter: One has a "demonic" sexual role, and may enjoy demon-related cosmetics and terminology in a sexual context.
Bambigeniter: One has a largely nonsexual relationship with one's genitalia. One may still engage in sex or penetration, but it does not dictate one's attitude to one's genitalia.
Bluedeuter: One identifies with the color blue cosmetically.
Jockdeuter: One prefers to wear garments and use cosmetic products that are purely beneficial to engaging in athletic sports.
Gender Novarity
The gender novarity is a group of genders that are a revised and expanded version of the sex-based male-female gender binary. They are genders based off individual sex characteristics rather than the collective grouping of these characteristics.
"Novarity" is based on "nova" meaning new star, and "arity" meaning numerical rank. A binary is a type of arity.
These are split into four categories: Gonads, Genitalia, Hormones, and Deutosex Characteristics.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Gonadal Gender
The umbrella term for genders based off gonads is called Gonader.
Gonaders socially denote one's reproductive and parental identity. One can be any gonader regardless of one's gonadal sex. One may wish to play the the parental role associated with a gonader, or may see themselves as socially having the reproductive role even if it is not physically possible.
Physically, while it isn't possible to change one's gonads, one may wish to change the body's hormone dominance, which gonads are typically responsible for, or to remove one's gonads (angonadal).
Gonaders consist of the following:
Ovale (adj.)/ Ovin (n.): Ovary-based gonader. Ovaen identify with pregnancy in some way and to some degree. They feel a connection to their child or hypothetical child via pregnancy. An ovale parent is called an ovaer.
Testale (adj.)/ Testin(n.): Testes-based gonader. Testen identify with impregnation in some way and to some degree. They feel a connection to their child or hypothetical child via the impregnation of the other parent. A testale parent is called an ferler.
Ovatestale (adj.)/ Ovatestin (n.): An individual that is both ovale and testale. Ovatesten identify with both pregnancy and impregnation in some way and to some degree. Such an individual may feel a connection to their child or hypothetical child via both pregnancy and impregnation in some way; this may be a projection of the other parent's connection to the child.
Agonader (adj.)/ Agonadin (n.): Agonader individuals do not identify with reproduction or parenthood. It may also describe an individual that is indifferent to their reproductive role, but still desires reproduction. It may also describe someone who does not feel as though their connection to their child is related to their pregnancy or impregnation. Such an individual may or may not be interested in sterilization.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Genital Gender:
The umbrella term for genders based off genitals is called Geniter.
Socially, geniters are responsible for one's sexual role. One can be any geniter even if one doesn't desire or receive genital surgery. Geniters can be seen as one's relationship with their genitals, and these may not always exactly align.
A transgeniter individual that is not transgenital may prefer using toys or prosthetics during sex to simulate the existence of other genitalia, or they may prefer for their genitals to be treated in a different way.
Geniters consist of the following:
Vulvale (adj.) / Vulvin (n.): Vulva-based geniter. A vulvin identifies with being penetrated or being able to be penetrated during sex, and may also prefer sitting to urinate. For those who have penises, this may involve wanting the penis to be ignored and to be penetrated instead during sex. This is not the same as being submissive or a bottom.
Phallale (adj.) / Phallin (n.): Penis-based geniter. A phallin identifies with penetrating or being able to penetrate in some way during sex, and may also prefer standing or aiming to urinate. For those who have vulvas, this may involve wanting to penetrate one's sexual partner with a toy. This is not the same as being dominant or a top.
Vuphalale (adj.) / Vuphalin (n.): Both vulvale and phallale. A vuphalin is identifies with both penetrating and receiving during sex, and may prefer both sitting and standing to urinate. This is not the same as being versatile or a switch.
Ageniter (adj.) / Agenitan (n.): Ageniter individuals do not identify with receiving nor penetrating during sex. An ageniter individual may prefer non-penetrative activities, or they may prefer not to involve their own genitalia during sex. Alternatively, an ageniter individual may be indifferent to their genitalia and how it is treated.

Hormonal Gender
The umbrella term for genders based off hormones is called Hormoder.
The umbrella term for genders based off secondary sex characteristics is called Deuter.
Hormoders are a way to categorize deuters, as secondary sex characteristics are typically influenced by hormones. However, because secondary sex characteristics do not always conform to hormones, deuters are their own umbrella of genders that individuals may identify with instead.
Hormoders are genders that are responsible for one's cosmetic identity. Individuals with particular deuters typically wish to wear clothing that compliments their secondary sex characteristics. If one's deuters do not match their secondary sex characteristics, one may use clothing or makeup to mimic the appearance of those characteristics, or one may wear clothing that treats their body as though one has these characteristics regardless of their absence.
Hormoders consist of the following:
Estrale (adj.) / Estrin (n.): Estrogen-based hormoder. Estren typically enjoy cosmetics that exemplify breasts, fat in the hip area, minimal facial hair, and less body hair. They may wear breast-supporting garments such as bras, and may prefer to shave to maintain less body hair. They may also enjoy having a higher pitched voice, and may alter their voice for this purpose.
Andrale (adj.) / Andrin (n.): Androgen-based hormoder. Andren typically enjoy cosmetics that exemplify facial hair, body hair, and fat in the abdominal area. They may groom their facial hair to maintain its appearance, and may wear clothing that slims the hip area. They may also enjoy having a deep voice, and may alter their voice for this purpose.
Estandrale (adj.) / Estandrin (n.): Both estrale and testale. Individuals who have physically been both estrodominant and testodominant characteristically have both breasts and facial hair. Estandren may enjoy garments that exemplify the breasts, and also enjoy maintaining their facial hair. Estandren may enjoy other types of cosmetics as well.
Ahormoder (adj.) / Ahormin (n.): Neither estrale nor testale. Ahormen are indifferent to their secondary sex characteristics and do not wear garments or use cosmetics that exemplify any of these characteristics.
Deuters
Gender novarity cont.
Deuters consist of the following:

Achestine (adj.) / Achestin (n.): Neither mammine or pectine. Achesten are indifferent to the appearance of their chest and do not revolve their clothing or cosmetics around it. Their chest is regarded to be unimportant to their appearance.
Beardale (adj.) / Beardin (n.): Beard-based deuter. Bearden enjoy maintaining and styling their facial hair. Individuals without facial hair growth may use makeup to create the appearance of a beard.
Sheardale (adj.) / Sheardin (n.): Beardless-based deuter. Shearden enjoy not having a beard or any facial hair, and may or may not shave to maintain this appearance.

i want to explain some of my reasoning behind the concept of gender novarity.
for quite a while i have been thinking a lot about gender, the way our community has expanded on it, and why it exists at all.
the truth is, gender is meant to be the social expression of sex. society has assigned social roles and identifiers to the male and female sex. this is often oppressive and results in violence towards those who do not conform. these roles sometimes correlate with actual sex characteristics, but often times they do not.
the age in which we break down the gender binary was coming. i will never be surprised that non-binary folks, xenogender folks, outherine folks, etc. have started making themselves known more and more in today's day and age. when the supposed sex-based gender binary stops making sense and becomes more blatantly obvious as a way to keep us in line, it's clear that many were bound to stop subscribing to it.
when people have become less interested in contributing to reproduction and are becoming more comfortable with discussing goals in life that do not revolve around the goals laid out for certain genders, this was all bound to happen. if we no longer wish to live out the lives of what men and women should be doing in the eyes of western capitalism, then what are we? how do we define ourselves without this binary? those are the questions we have addressed and thrived off doing so.
i think it's time we look at gender itself and ask what purpose it must serve if we are to continue to use its base definition. if gender is an expression of sex, how can we expand on that without reverting to the binary we fought so hard to escape from?
this thought process is essentially how i came to coin the gender novarity.
the gender novarity is a system that uses the three core elements of physical sex characteristics and how they influence our social lives. it splits the idea of gender into three roles: parental, sexual, and cosmetic. the parental role is expressed by gonaders, geniters for the sexual role, and hormoders as well as deuters for the cosmetic role.
since the main purpose of sex is reproduction, the first two roles were bound to revolve around it, and it works; parenthood and sexuality are inherently social aspects of life and involve interacting with other people. when you think about it, these roles are already typically gendered. parenthood is split into two roles: mother and father. hell, our sexual orientations revolve around gender, not even sex.
the cosmetic identity is more complex and uniquely human; since secondary sex characteristics do not contribute to reproduction (other than the breasts), we have always used them to accessorize ourselves in ways that are not inherently purposeful to parenthood or sexuality. the cosmetic identity is a simple expression of the self. for those who are completely uninterested in reproduction and sex, many still identify with the cosmetic aspects of gender.
i think this way of categorizing the roles of gender serves as a safety net. the gender binary has been weaponized because of its vague nature, allowing it to be morphed into a tool of oppression that decides that men and women must act in certain ways and inhabit certain roles, often for the sake of contributing to capitalism and oppressing those of female sex characteristics. a split gender system that only revolves around one's parental, sexual, and cosmetic roles cannot be weaponized in such a way.
when further conceptualizing the system, i realized that xenine gonaders, geniters, and deuters were absolutely necessary. i thought about how i would apply myself to these concepts and realized that my own roles were largely atypical. xenogonaders, xenogeniters, and xenodeuters are similar to xenogenders except they denote particular roles. i personally feel that xenodeuters are most versatile given that many people revolve their gender identity around their cosmetic appearance.
i really hope that the gender novarity helps people. i hope it helps people understand their own genders better and question the gender binary itself. some people i know have already added some novaritine genders to their hoards which is very exciting to see. i hope more people continue to see its potential.
