Why I haven’t voted for this year’s election
Hi there. Welcome to my second post on my blog already. I’ve had issues with choosing the subject for my next post on here but eventually I chose for the politics election of this year.
I turned 18 last November in 2020 which means I’m official adult now, according to the Dutch law. Do I feel like an adult? no. Not at all. I may live on my own without parents (I’ll talk about that later, that’s another story) but I definitely don’t feel like an adult adult you know? Anyways, at the age of 18 years old we have the right to vote for a new policital campaign, if I say that right.
We vote on a ballot paper and hand it in at a ballot box nearby. Many and Dutch famous people are calling people in to vote. But I didn’t. I haven’t voted on a new campaign even though I had the right. ‘’Demi, why the fuck you haven’t voted? This is also for your future.’’ you may think. Well, the answer is easy. I haven’t voted for this year’s election because I feel like I’m still not fully educated about everything. I have no idea why that campaign is better than the other. I’m in a progress to learn and understand all of that. There were 41 campaigns to be exact that were participating this year’s election. When I vote, I do wanna vote for the right one in my point of view.
I am learning everyday. Which is okay to me. I mean yes... the next election is in 4 years which is a while cause at that time I’ll be 22 years old but better be more educated about politics and campaigns and vote for the right one than voting for a campaign you have no idea what the fuck they’re actually doing.
Politics definitely have my interests. And will always be because it’s for our futures, for our children’s, grand children’s and more. I’m excited to learn new things about it everyday and hope I know the right campaign to vote on in 2025. 😊
