Keirani and…
A Novulin scientist, and lots of Kee.

Buncha design ideas I did for some Novulins
HII I REALLY - ahem - i really want to know about the oc you just posted, Novulin Scientist I think. THE CHARACTER DESIGNS ARE SO AWESOME like omgg, specifically really interested in the one with the pink thing around their head.
Oh boy, I love being asked about my ocs, CUZ I SURE GOT A LOTTA LORE FOR YA! Well, not for the scientist particulary since I havent even given them a name. But my general ideas for the scientist will likely be that they were partly responsible for an incident that forever changed their world and people’s lives.
But to explain that, I suppose I can explain the pink one, Kee!
Kee has some crazy ass lore and many designs to reflect that. Kee is a fragment of a god named Keirani, which is basically a planet given sentience. Keirani created the Novulins, flower like beings who were very curious of their world and god. One day however, when Novulin scientists discovered forces they didn’t understand, unleashed chaos upon their planet by accident.
The chaotic rift that opened distorted the planet and life on it that came into contact with the chaos. This began to alter and weaken Keirani. The Novulins, remorseful and desperate, begged Keirani for a way to stop the chaos rift. Keirani would give the Novulin scientists fragments of themself that were not touched by chaos yet, hoping that the fragments would be made into clones that could find a way to close the rift.
The clones in question being Kee and Keir. Kee and Keir were mainly tasked with the protection of Novulins and learning how to manipulate chaos so that they could close the rift. Kee was the clone that understood the nature of chaos more than his sibling Keir, but Keir had better communication and leadership skills. While Kee’s understanding of chaos would’ve been the greatest asset to the Novulins, he began lose himself to chaos as well. It began to distort his mind, his body, his soul.
Kee would eventually go berserk from the madness, causing more chaos corruption to creep onto the Novulins. Keir would unfortunately have to stop Kee. But instead of killing Kee, Keir would just wound him enough that Kee was no longer capable of distorting all life on the planet.
Keir and the Novulins, deciding it was too dangerous to stay on their planet, flew off into space. Even though the Novulins and Keir left their home, they planned to close the rift once Keir was capable of it. This would take many years however, and Kee would be basically rotting on the planet… until a lord of chaos, Gilebren (who belongs to my friend @/daanikduul), showed up and found Kee in his miserable state. Pitying Kee, Gilebren would take Kee’s soul and have Kee be reborn as an algha (basically demons).
Since Kee’s very being had been so severely distorted from chaos, his birth in the Crimson Plane (where alghas live) became a whole mess. Kee, in his madness and confusion, rampaged throughout the realm until Gilebren would come face to face with him. Gilebren would simply offer Kee a fish, and that small gesture was enough to calm Kee down, as he’d remembered when Gilebren had saved him from his pain on the Novulin planet.
So basically Kee becomes Gilebren’s jester, then pet over some time. Why you may ask? Well, Kee really just wanted a simple life after all the pain he’d been through mentally and physically. Being a pet was simple and peaceful for him. Even if his mind and powers were still unstable, he was less of a hazard in this simple-minded state he was in.
But yeah how we got to this design here… it’s a “what if” design basically. Like what if Kee confronted his pain and decided to live not as a basic pet, but perhaps come back with the Novulins. That or he just regained some sanity lmao.
