‘Tea Party Ready’
Prudence set her worn eared stuffed rabbit at the short fat pink plastic fisher price table she’d made ‘tea party ready’ with a worn thin beach towel for a fancy table cloth. She smiled and spoke to her rabbit.
“Are you ready?” she asked him as the table appeared to lengthen and the child’s grin widened as it did so.
The beach towel was now elegant and flowy as any fine table cloth should be and her pink plastic Barbie tea pot was now a fine china piece. Prudence clapped her hands together proud of herself. In her mind’s eye she could just see Alice arriving there to join them for tea.
“Well Mr. Rabbit what’s missing?” she wondered aloud. “Oh!” she exclaimed. “Of course we’re not dressed right” proclaimed little Pru as she altered their appearance.
Rabbit found himself in a little suit complete with a red bow tie and she changed her own finger paint stained Osh Kosh play overalls into a little yellow polka dot sun dress fit for such an occasion. She giggled.
“That’s much better” she declared admiring herself with a little turn. She was careful not to touch anything or she knew it all go away, that was just the way the magic worked.
