Thinking of it further, whenever Vanessa goes to either of the ships, at first, there's not a massive number of things that she has to do--Springtrap is just wanting her to listen, and report anything to him that was interesting.

And, initially, what happened to Spring Bonnie wasn't entirely known--but during her next visit to that ship, she was able to report that the yellow rabbit was there--which just infuriated Springtrap.

It's just 50/50 for which of the two ships she'll be at--and constantly switching between either forms--but at times, she does have to return to Springtrap's... which means she's gone from the other two for much longer.

Another downside is just that... the longer everything goes on, Vanessa begins to realize that the Vanny form might be becoming far more permanent.
