So someone told me the other day, boss you picked the wrong time to open a restaurant 😞😞😞...He was kind of right, just after @cafekaya254 celebrated 🎊 being a Year Old, we had to close our doors🚪in March following COVID-19 effects & Government Measures. We had to let go of our staff indefinitely as economic uncertainty & government protocols wiped out any reason to reopen. A whole 6 months we held on, hoping things could get better & we could ask our entire team to come back, we kept a small part of the team busy renovating the cafe as we awaited the right moment to resume. We also campaigned with other restaurants for the Government to relax their restrictions, so that the hospitality sector has a better survival chance. We decided October we have to reopen no matter the situation, thank God it coincided with relaxed Government protocols that were now more favorable to restaurants. We actually opened last week but we noticed something, many suppliers couldn’t supply or were delaying. So many suppliers who served the hospitality sector are now in a deadly cash flow crunch, they are owed millions by restaurants and hotels which are now either still closed or have permanently ended operations. We have had to wait for days to get products that were delivered daily to arrive this we delayed our push to say we are open. So if you go to a restaurant somewhere & they say they don’t have something don’t blame them things are thick on the supplier side. Anyway short of it, we are back 💪💪💪.
