Old experiment with textures from last year featuring Nox's original design.
Posting this now because 1. Moon Landing Day and 2. baby Iggy in the last panel.
Look at him.
so smol
also yeah this scene is different now.
Finally finished this pic of both of Ig’s parents. I’ve already introduced y’all to Nox, overworked and constantly stressed king of the moon who takes “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” too seriously to the point where it negatively impacts his mental and physical wellbeing, but I haven’t really talked about his (deceased) wife Vilthox yet.
Vilthox was a military trainee when she and Nox first met. After the Lunar War started (and her commanding officers kept getting killed by Titanians, forcing her to move up ranks because the Mooninites were running out of soldiers) she ended up becoming a GENERAL at the ripe old age of...21. O_O like I said they were horribly low on combat ready people for the first few years of the war.
She turned out to be a fantastic fit for the job, though—to the point where the Titanians nicknamed her the “Green Death”. She and Nox got married about a third of the way through the 13-year-long Lunar War.
Off the battlefield she was basically the main thing keeping Nox from overworking himself/losing his mind...and probably the only person capable of getting him to remember to actually take care of his own needs.
In the last year of the Lunar War, the pair were awaiting the hatching of their first (and ultimately only) egg, which was being kept in a hidden medical facility that was supposed to be safe from Titanian attacks. On the day it began to show signs of hatching, Vilthox went to the facility to see it.
The hospital was then hit by a Titanian missile strike.
Search teams found her body in the rubble. One of her wings had been severed by shrapnel and she’d died of blood loss. Clinging to her side was the newly-hatched heir to the throne, who hatched a mere 30 seconds before the missile hit.
Ultimately, Ignignokt only knew his mother for five minutes. He’s always claimed it doesn’t bother him.
He’s lying.
The shit that Nox has to put up with on a regular basis. Poor guy has enough of a perma-migraine from politics already. Meanwhile his dumbass son keeps starting shit with either Earth or Pluto.
Somebody get this poor man a beer. And a therapist.
