Serena had heard her parents talk about the oddly bubbly girl, despite parents that weren’t around. She had been conditioned to not interact with Shauna, due to her “broken family background”. Though of course her parents changed their mind when they heard Shauna too had received a Pokedex from the esteemed Professor Sycamore. This left Serena confused, unsure of what to think of the girl. When they finally met, Serena felt incredibly uncomfortable. She was horribly unprepared for such friendliness, having no clue how to react.
Their current impression:
Even now, Serena isn’t sure how she feels about Shauna’s kindness. She knows it’s genuine, but isn’t sure why Shauna bothers. Serena appreciates it, but is hesitant about becoming anything… more. Serena never had a friend before, so this is uncharted territory for her. She’s starting to feel guilty that Shauna shows her so much kindness and wants to return the favor. Serena hasn’t quite pieced together that she cares about Shauna yet.
What they like the most about your muse:
Serena applauds Shauna’s ability to remain calm and keep a positive attitude in most situations. Serena is known to throw temper tantrums whenever she’s upset, storming off because she isn’t able to deal with the situation in the moment. She’s very hot headed compared to Shauna, who can think from multiple perspectives and consider the most logical route. It must be why she’s oddly good at puzzles, another skill Serena commends Shauna for having.
What they dislike the most about your muse:
Shauna’s happiness is… exhausting for Serena. She has no idea how Shauna manages to keep it up despite her family background. Sometimes she wonders if Shauna could relate to her if she was feeling down, but she isn’t at the point where she trusts Shauna enough to talk to her about something that’s bothering her.

If you were to ask Serena, she’d probably say Shauna is someone who she is mutually on good terms with and occasionally enjoys company with. If she had to name a term, she’d probably call Shauna a “close acquaintance”.
A general opinion of their relationship:
Despite the fact that they are “close acquaintances”, she wouldn’t go as far as calling Shauna her friend yet. However, she would most likely go out of her way to help Shauna if Shauna ever needed her to. This is in part due to obligation after Shauna had given her so much kindness, but also because she genuinely believes Shauna deserves it.

She won’t admit it, but if someone ever tried to hurt Shauna, she would step up to the plate and would defend her.
