Competition, energy, and excitement all buzzed high in the magnificent stadium, higher than ever before as those with a spark of interest, to a burning passion in cooking gathered to Nimbasa City, from across the region, for a chance to win a trophy on live television! As grand the as the reward and the potential TV fame was, he entered wanting a little more than that- why, the experience and the chance to further hone down his own culinary capabilities!

Cilan held up his number card, wondering how his partner was going to find him, and scanned the crowded field. Usually one to shrink away from such a demanding social event, the added spices– competition performance, and entertainment maybe even meet a renowned chef from another region! – that flavored this event was too tempting to not enroll in-- much to his brother’s disbelief. When the camera pans over to his general direction, Cilan waves in hopes that it’ll broadcast back to his brothers at home.

A number card catches his eye and he recognized it as his designated partner’s-- who stood above the crowd, literally, and was hard to miss.

 “Oh- uh pardon!” With an spring to his step, Cilan made his way to his fated partner and called out their number. “Hello-!” His greeting cut short as he almost tripped over an invisible block, but gains his footing just before crashing into Calem. “Uh, whoops! I’m sorry, ah, usually I’m not this clumsy. I think I’m feeling a little over zealous today.”

"My name is Cilan, uhm, nice to meet you.” He showed his card and smiled. “If you’re fine with me, I’ll put everything I have into being your cooking partner!”

Once you find your partner, head down to your stations, and reveal your mystery ingredients! Fire up your cuisine spirits and get ready to cook! You have ten minutes.

❤️- A happy memory that makes them smile

“Okay so. First and foremost. I’m not Unovian. I’m not Orrean. I don’t speak. Unovian. I just don’t, okay? Not normally anyway. See this? This is me really trying, because I’ve worked abroad, and I’ve had a lot of time to learn how to be Unovian so people can understand me, right? Point is, when I’m sitting comfortable in Kanto, I speak... Kantonian. Shocker.”

“I also happen to forget sometimes. Like. I talk to my Pokemon in Kantonian, even when I’m in different regions that speak different languages, because it’s the language they understand. Cue some 70-something-year-old Unovian lady in my trips to Unova sitting there for a solid five minutes wondering what the hell I was saying so sweetly to my giant Gyarados named Buu-Buu-chan.” 

“In general, honestly, it makes me laugh; I named all of my Pokemon when I was anywhere from around ten to thirteen. So... their names are just... I named them with love, alright? That’s what matters.”

“Not going into detail: the day I learned I was the reason my mom died and that my father fucking blamed me for it.”

“That one’s easy - it was the day Red left without a fucking trace, rhyme, nor reason. Cuz that’s what normal people do, right? They just disappear off the face of the fucking planet and go run off on a mountain for several fucking years without even thinking that maybe their friends might be worried about them, right? That’s just the natural thought process to have, isn’t it?”
