Name: Tomoya Age: Unknown Gender: Male Occupation: Scientist, Shady Businessman  Twisted from : Doctor Finkelstein

Unique Magic : I Made You - Allows Tomoya to give his inanimate creations life-like qualities and obey his every command. The more he controls at once, the more quickly his blot can build up. 

- Graduated from Night Raven Academy, was a member of the Ignihyde dorm. - Was Zach’s ( @strytells​ ) boss for years but lost him after giving Nix away. - Worked in a laboratory hidden in the mountains above Pyroxene/Shaftlands.This was to evade being caught in his  illegal dealings and experiments toying with human life.  - He hired others to kidnap Fae and other races to gather ‘materials’ from them to use in a multitude of experiments.  - Never considered the feelings and emotions of others when it came to his decisions. All that mattered was business and his research. This how he was able to take Nix away from Zach so easily, to him it wasn’t that big of deal. If Zach liked having a child so much, why not just make another? - Also made Kyu (  @strytells​ ) but kept her for her Unique Magic. Though ended up throwing her out when she became ill.  - Got extorted for money by Zach when he threatened to kill or expose him otherwise. He happily paid since the only things that mattered to him was his own life and the ability to conduct experiments. - Ends up deceased under unusual circumstances some time after Nix Overblots and survives the incident.

NPC Profile: Julia Carpates III

Lady Julia Carpates III is the current ruler of Raetia and Queen in all but name, though her family chooses not to use that title due to the region once existing under Cassian rule. She’s ruled for 34 years after inheriting the title from her father, Luther Carpates, and married Immanuel Humthall, a scion of a noble house. With him she had four children; Julia IV (known as “Lia” or “Julia the Younger”) Ezra, Marcus and Camilla. Immanuel died in 1478 from an illness while Ezra disappeared two years later under mysterious circumstances, and the combined losses left Lady Julia emotionally shattered. Considered a fair and kind ruler, few people in Raetia truly know the Lady due to her need to maintain a dignified image, though most have sympathy for her because of the tragedies that have befallen her.

NPC Profile: Chuck Shurley

Verse: Reverse Au where Gabriel and Castiel are brothers, road tripping around america to hunt down everything that goes bump in the night. Along the way they befriend other hunters, team up with vampires even as far as demons, not to mention falling in love with two incredibly beautiful angels. Instead of the Men Of Letters, it’s the Society Of Lore Verse credit to @angelic-rebels

Family by Bond: Gabriel and Castiel Novak. 

Skills: Extremely good at research, part-time writer, and an oddly competent liar. (past) fairly good fighter.

Traits: Sensitive, caring, a little spacy, easily worried, panicky, loyal.

Bio: Chuck’s job used to be his father’s but Chuck took it up when his father passed away. 

He’s known the Novaks for years. Gabriel is his best friend and the two used to hunt togther. Chuck used to love to hunt with Gabriel. They always had the best time together.

One day, while on a hunt with just the two of them, Chuck almost lost Gabriel. That was the day that anxiety attacks started. And soon, he could no longer take the stress of hunting.

He became a recluse in his library. He loves when the Novaks stop by and a lot of times he misses hunting with his friends. But, his life has gotten to the point that even leaving the library is too much for him most days.

So, now, he spends his days providing everything he can to other hunters.

In his spare time, he secretly writes romance novels.

                       NPC PROFILE 1: DR FILIP  PETROVIC

These posts profile the “Non-Player Characters” of Gilbert’s life - that is, the humans (and non-humans) who play bit-parts in Gilbert’s life, but each add meaning and value to his identity and impact how he lives his life.

DR. FILIP PETROVIC is GILBERT’S PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN at Charité Universitatsmedizin Berlin, the largest teaching and research hospital in Berlin. He was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1955 and came to West Germany in the ‘seventies to practice medicine. He has remained in Berlin ever since.

He is Gilbert’s only doctor, and the only person Gilbert goes to for medical advice and treatment. Why? He is the only other person who knows of Gilbert’s condition, his status as a nonhuman - and his shrinking healing abilities.

Gilbert first came to him in early 1990s to get painkillers for his body pain associated with the dissolution of GDR and, with time, disclosed the true nature of himself.

Together, Gilbert and Dr. Petrović track every aspect of Gilbert’s biology. Everything from papercuts to broken bones are reported and (if necessary) treated by Dr. Petrović. Healing progress is routinely photographed and tracked, and estimates are made based on Gilbert’s current healing rate and that of an average human’s.

Gilbert goes in monthly for regular blood draws and tests for disease and disorders. He is also the main source of Gilbert’s opiate painkiller prescriptions.

Dr.  Petrović is the only person who knows of Gilbert’s growing mortality and - if Gilbert can have his way - it will remain that way.

NPC Profile: Tamra Copperscale

Tamra Copperscale is the Knowledge Keeper at the Temple of Deneir in Raetia. A descendant of the great Copper Dragon Bakirian, she’s the youngest Knowledge Keeper in history, having ascended to the position at the age of 24, and was the apprentice of the previous Knowledge Keeper, a gnome named Theopolous. Tamra is a walking encyclopedia and sits on the region’s High Council, and lives in the Knowledge Keeper’s quarters at the Temple with Ireena Kolyana, her lover.

                                NPC PROFILE 2: JULIA

These posts profile the “Non-Player Characters” of Gilbert’s life - that is, the humans (and non-humans) who play bit-parts in Gilbert’s life, but each add meaning and value to his identity and impact how he lives his life.

JULIA is the GREAT ENIGMA in Gilbert’s life. She is the mysterious woman who sends Gilbert out on dangerous and often lethal assignments throughout the world.

She first approached Gilbert in the early 90s to assist with removing several players from the post-Soviet vacuum of power filled by the Russian mob. She already knew almost every detail of Gilbert’s recent life, including his status as a nation and his need for a new purpose in life. In return, she would pay him a substantial sum of money.

Since then, Gilbert has learned almost nothing about her. She is fluent in several languages, appears to be based somewhere in Russia or another former Soviet country, and has an endless network of connections and people under her power. She speaks to Gilbert primarily in dialectless form of Russian, however she has displayed several times that she is fluent in German, and he suspects she understands Gilbert’s private “nation” language.

She never seems to age, and is always able to locate Gilbert in whatever part of the world he is in. Because of this, Gilbert believes that she is not exactly human; perhaps a micronation or a personification of a city. However, any attempts to discover her identity have proved to be fruitless. 

She is skilled in combat and stealth techniques, and is able to blend into almost any scene and situation. Gilbert believes she may be former KGB.

Though she keeps an arm’s length from Gilbert at most times and maintains their relationship as strictly professional, she has occasionally let slip that she deeply cares about Gilbert’s wellbeing, and is well- invested in his survival.

A pair of NPCs that our party has run into lately, Wolfram and Taala. A little on them that hasn't been fully elucidated on in-game under the cut:

Wolfram is a researcher of, shall we say, unnatural history. A member of the continent-spanning scholarly Ouroboros society, their specialty is the interaction of the natural world and the arcane, and more specifically, how the latter affects the former. They are currently observing some of the strange, dangerous creatures that have come down from the mountains in the last few months. He's even gone so far as to hire a guide familiar with the terrain, hoping to pursue and observe them more closely.

But said guide, Taala, has put her foot firmly down on the idea. Hailing from a group of caravan guards, wilderness guides, and trackers in the region, she has correctly pegged the monsters in the hills as Too Damn Dangerous and refuses to bring 'the professor' within half a mile of them. That isn't to say she doesn't find them as fascinating or weirdly beautiful as Wolfram does--just that she wants to live to continue these studies, and knows she won't get paid if *either* of them dies.

Ven—Seven-Seven or Vendetta, depending on who you ask—fell into mercenary work after the war, as many warforged did. While technically principled, their tenets as a follower of Agerberg still leaned heavily into self-preservation and might-makes-right—behavior that led to their kith crew to turn against the juggernaut. This remarkably stupid move led to them being hunted down one-by-one across the continent.

Six-Two, originally an apprentice in Lukurum's Hall of Constructs, was headhunted by the Hall of Artillerists before they could so much as move up to journeyman, and they never once looked back, delighting in the spectacle of modern artillery. After their mastery, they found they were inclined to wander, visiting other warforged enclaves and studying under other artillerists. Eventually, they got wind of Ven being not only available for bodyguard work, but shunned by a large slice of the warforged community, who felt their behavior reflected badly on them as a whole.

Six-Two never seemed to care about their past, but twigged to Ven's disillusionment with their god and choices in life. Their partnership allowed Ven to start passively making connections again among their people, and Six-Two's intellect and enthusiasm paired with Ven's intuition and newfound temperance has made them into a very complementary team.
