Well, it's time to cancel Neil Patrick Harris.

What an absolutely horseshit, spineless, un-self aware answer.

As an out gay man with a career that was not ended by having a coming out, who has a family he was able to build through marriage equality and legal surrogacy, the idea that he can live a life "apolitically" is laughable and infuriating. Furthermore, the idea that you can view art without a lens of real world context is so deeply stupid and incorrect.

Art IS political. Full stop.

And without looking at art through the context it was created in, the time it was made in and made to reflect, and yes, the politics of both times, you cannot understand the meaning of the art.

i am an old man enthusiast, yes. i believe we have discussed the undeniable attraction of nph. i first experienced my yearning when i was like, 10 years old and watched a series of unfortunate events. i always found most people in that show attractive (especially lucy punch as esmé gigi geniveve squalor) but found myself staring at count olaf far too much. after watching asoue for the first time, i had a love for nph. and after watching it when i got older, i truly noticed the attraction i have for count olaf, which made me love neil himself. i have neil's autobiography, and it's so much fun, he formatted it like a "choose your own adventure" novel. i know every lyric to the tony awards performance he did "its not just for gays anymore", and one time i watched his tiktok live for like 5 minutes while in school. i believe neil patrick harris is a certified attractive old man!
