Out of most of the Avengers, Laura had been drawn to the redhead. Amazingly strong, bold, smart - Laura had instantly recognized in her younger age what an asset she’d be unto her skills an livelihood. Long gone are the days of her youth, adjusting to the ways of a world staunch against mutants such as herself. Laura figures she never had a chance at a ‘normal’ childhood, and her hunch had only been thus proven at the literal snap of Thanos’ gloved hand. Five years sometimes doesn’t seem like very much, but considering when all of this began she was 12 going on 13, the young lady has seen far too much not to be a slightly angsty mess. Still, it doesn’t hinder the teen’s cognizance of their current situation, how they are pretty much all each other has and how important it is to stay intact, at least somewhat. So, here she is at headquarters, a bag of groceries in hand, gently setting the product atop the counter with a sigh. “Oh. Don’t worry. I paid for it.” Laura insists before Nat can even open her mouth, the assumptions from habits dying hard in her youth, never ceasing.
