A package has been left on Tim's doorstep. Inside of it is a Crocky the Crocodile plush, a small card, and a collapsed bo. The card reads:
So. If these gifts supremely suck, you can come tell me off. But I thought you might like a touch of sentimentality (the stuffed animal), and something with a bit more functionality (the weapon), to balance it out.
The bo might be a pound or two heavier than your normal ones, so if there's anything you need taken out of it, please feel free to ask. Otherwise, I've added a taser, a flashlight (with black light and strobe options as well), a small storage compartment, a smoke flare, and an emergency self-destruct protocol, which will activate a minor detonation after ten seconds post-activation. The metal is dense, so it should end fights faster.
Also, if you ever feel the need to, perhaps, call in a certain Moneyspider, tap SOS in morse with the covered button in the storage compartment. It'll send your coordinates at the time of entering the code directly to any and all of my devices that are presently powered on. Not that you have to use that, but, y'know. If you're ever caught in someone else's web, you've allies who will help get you out.
Try not to get caught by an EMP, though, or it'll need total re-activation.

Tim was a bit paranoid, it kind of came with the job. Before opening the package, he had to make sure it didn't contain a bomb, toxins or anything similar. Then he carefully opened it and felt himself stare at the content in surprise. Picking up the card to find out who it might be from, he quickly got even more surprised. Of all the people he had considered might celebrate his birthday, Lonnie had not been one of them.
Having read the card more than once, he then picked up Crocky. He'd seen that show as a kid, and chased a robber dressed in one. Tim chuckled. Gently tucking it under his arm, he then picked up the staff. Lonnie was right, it was heavier, but it also contained more features than his main staff did. He couldn't wait to try it out during training session.
"Thanks, Lonnie," Tim mumbled, mentally filing away to actually send him a proper message later.
