𝒜 𝒮𝒯𝒰𝒟𝒴 𝐼𝒩… isolation, self-worth through service to others, fear of the unknown, baked goods, kindness, and one very, very spoiled cat.
First and foremost, Hi, I’m REE, age 30+, they/he/she, and PST timezone.
Standard RP etiquette applies. No godmoding, metagaming, AI, bigotry, etc.
I am semi selective, non-exclusive, and will write with multiple versions of the same characters. I am also multi/poly-ship, multi-verse, and crossover-friendly. Please feel free to approach me for plots and ideas. Non-mutuals welcome! If you aren't sure where to start, feel free to fill out my interest tracker and we'll go from there.
I’m always available on Discord, but prefer to keep that mutuals only.
I can be scattered and have memory issues. If you’ve been waiting on a reply more than a week or so, feel free to nudge me to make sure I’ve seen it.
I’m also an inbox fiend! If you reblog an inbox/ask meme, I’ll try to send something in. Don’t feel pressured at all to get to all of them, it’s all just for fun. If you want me to send something and I miss the post, send it to me directly and I’ll gladly do so.
On the topic of fun, I don’t take things too seriously here, and I want to have fun with my writing partners, so if you’re anxious about reaching out to plot, send a message telling me your favorite animal instead
I do have a few triggers, but I don’t anticipate them coming up. Feel free to ask for more details if you’re concerned, but know that I’m very good at letting my writing partners know if I’m at all uncomfortable.
PLOTTING AND MEMES
Regarding MAIN/MODERN verse: Polly’s main verse (linked here) includes fantasy elements such as spells, curses, and fairies. However, if your muse is from a world that doesn’t mesh with these elements (IE Ted Lasso) I will default to her modern verse (lined here), which takes place in the real world. If you have a strong preference for one verse over the other, please let me know.
PLOTTING: I love plotting! I also love improv and playing it by ear. The only thing that requires pre-plotting are pre-established relatonships and some darker themes such as abusive/toxic dynamics so that we’re always on the same page of what the plot entails, and to make sure we’re both comfortable with the dynamic and topics we’re writing.
REGARDING SHIPPING: Polly tends to get crushes very easily, but I never want to force a ship. I expect her feelings to be unrequited more often than not, and keep things platonic between our characters. If this makes you uncomfortable, please let me know.
ASKS: If you want to continue a thread from an inbox meme, please create a new post and tag me in it, rather than reblogging the original ask, or message me if you need me to do it for you.
she's not entirely certain, but Celia is at least mostly sure that she has not felt such an anxiety before as she did standing outside of Polly's safehouse, pastry box in hand. normally she would simply walk in, announced or otherwise.
but this was not a visit conveyed ahead of time, and Polly had more than likely delayed in telling Celia of her birthday for a reason... the idea had seemed thoughtful at first, but now she was questioning if it might be the wrong choice after all; if there was a clue she might have missed...
before she can talk herself out of it, Celia grasps the doorknob, turns, and cautiously enters.
It came as a surprise to see Celia enter with a pastry box, but her thought went first to a holiday celebration rather than anything else. Polly was never one to celebrate her birthday. She adored October as it was without any extra pomp or circumstance, and had nearly forgotten she'd told Celia when her birthday was in the first place. "Happy Halloween. What do you have there?"
Was she imagining things, or did Celia seem nervous? There seemed to be a subtle shift in her body language, something Polly couldn't quite pinpoint, and she tried to smile more brightly. "How have you been, then?"
Polly covered her face in shame, ears burning red. "They were supposed to be snowmen." The bite-size sweet rolls were fresh from the oven, waiting to be dusted with powdered sugar and set out as free samples. Unfortunately, the baking process had rendered them rather ... pillar-like. "They had top hats and everything."
although Celia did survey the rooms regularly and especially upon her return from some errand or another, she evidently had not looked up since her last departure... when Polly stands before her, seeming nervous or expectant or both, the other woman's gaze flickers to a sprig of mistletoe above them that Celia only then seems to notice. brows arch slightly before furrowing - there's a tradition there, something romantic influenced by the upcoming holidays... but not one that she has ever partaken in before, and hesitation lingers for longer than she might have liked before Celia finally moves again.
she takes Polly's chin to raised it slightly - there still lies conflict in her gaze, but Celia closes the distance all the same, pressing her lips gently to the other woman's. it's a chaste enough kiss, still uncertain and hesitant, but likewise restrained, as though it might have been too easy for Celia to lose herself without.
she holds Polly's gaze for a long moment after pulling back, amusement in the curve of her lip before Celia murmurs, "keep the mistletoe away from the cat... vet bills are expensive, I hear."
The sound of a skirmish had captured Polly's attention. She made her way through the woods on silent, hoofed feet, leaping from one tree to the next and avoiding the nevrons below. They couldn't land a hit on her if they tried -- she was far too fast and powerful for that -- but she didn't care for skirmishes at the best of times, and Polly hadn't seen even good times since the Fracture.
The fight was over by the time she arrived, the nevron's chroma slowly bleeding back into the atmosphere, but the woman there was not one she knew. Neither Clea nor Aline, and certainly not young Alicia. Long ears twitching, she cocked her head to the side, and leapt down. "It's not wise to go around the Continent alone," she says with a curious smile. "Are you alright? Did you get hit at all?"
ooc. thinking about inquisitor/herald polly.... thinking about how she has never and will never truly have peers. She grew up isolated, with the most social interaction being between her and her mother, and the occasional visitor/traveler, and now she's been raised on a pedestal, a hero of the people so far above anyone else. She barely knows how to be in society, and she isn't given the chance to learn -- it's just one extreme to the other. She has advisors and companions -- all people she thinks of as her betters -- while they all know she's been marked for greatness even if she isn't quite there yet behind the scenes. Thinkin about loneliness n isolation n inqusitor polly....:3c

it hardly mattered the conservate style of the dress' front or back - that was hardly the appeal, after all. it was not about the amount of skin showing nor the sight of skin at all, even if her gaze did linger upon the curve of her spine and slit in the fabric that revealed a hint of thigh for a moment too long...
no, the joy in Polly's spinning presentation and the curve of her lips in such excitement were more than enough to sate Celia's hunger for a brief enough time that she might stay.
even her hesitation was cute, a quiet thanks softening her own gaze.
"if you see anything else you like... you should let me know."
A flush reddened the tips of her ears, color rising to her cheeks at Celia's unusually tender gaze. A flutter stirred in Polly any time Celia looked at her like that, rare as it could be, and she couldn't help the way her own smile softened. Subconciously, one of her hands rose to cover her mouth, the way it always did when she grew bashful.
"Oh -- no, I couldn't possibly. Even this feels like too much." She rubbed the fabric between her fingers, enjoying the sensation of being looked at more than she wanted to admit. "I'm glad you like it, though..."
Ensign Apollina "Polly" Clarke still wasn't sure how she had been accepted into Starfleet, much less graduated and given a position on an actual ship. She kept her head down, performed her duties diligently, and ensured both her and her teammates' work spaces were clean.
Only rarely did she allow herself to give in and visit the holodeck to work with her hands, kneading and baking and icing the evening away. There was something about a handmade meal that the replicators could never -- well -- replicate. It helped to have something she could eat while playing pretend, but it felt hollow tonight, and she stepped out -- only to find everyone was on the move. It didn't matter if her shift didn't start for a few hours yet; Polly needed to make herself useful.
"Excuse me, ma'am?" she called, trying and failing not to feel stupid for standing about with a plate full of pastries while she kept paced with Aella. "What's going on? Is there trouble?"
lanaya doesn’t typically like sweets BUT she has a soft spot for the tiny cakes from orlais, also doesn’t like tea.
are you polly's type // @haludh ;;
I'd say not liking sweets OR tea might be a deal breaker since that's a solid 1/3 of Polly's personality but Lanaya checks of so many other boxes it that it gets overruled!
Inner thighs for sure -- nip, kiss, or just stroke there and it's bound to get a little squeak out of her. Same with the tips of her ears, her neck just above her collarbone, and the back of her knees. She isn't often touched there unless her partner is manipulating her legs, and usually already situated between them as it is.
