- cocky but it’s (mostly) well earned and he’s not A Dick about it 

- won his competition through mostly non magical means (when he says he kicked ppl’s asses That Is Very Literal)

- has been in a training period for about 4 years

- gets super excited when sb has the same animal familiar as him; thinks it makes em familiar buddies
