BREAKING NEWS: Nintendo has just finished up their hour-long Switch 2 direct! While the Direct was primarily focused on the new console, it still featured a variety of new first-party games! Let's go over them:
First of all, let's go over the upgraded edition of older games! On the Switch 2, you can pay to upgrade select titles to the 'Nintendo Switch 2 editions,' featuring graphical improvements and new features!
Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Pokémon Legends Z-A will be upgraded to 60fps! Kirby will also feature new levels to play! Mario Party Jamboree will also get a Switch 2 version which includes new minigames that take advantage of the new 'Mouse Mode' and the Switch 2 microphone and camera accessory!
Secondly, the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch with a game: Nintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tour! This game will show off the new features of the system! Plus, the game features a handful of minigames that take advantage of the new 'Mouse Mode!'
Thirdly, GameCube games on NSO. That's all I have to say.
Next, Nintendo gave us a full overview trailer for the new Mario Kart game: Mario Kart World! This new title features a full open-world, with players needing to drive between tracks during races! This will release June 5th as a launch title for the Switch 2! The only problem? The game costs $80 (£75)!
Next up, Donkey Kong Bananza! The series finally returns to the third dimension with a new 3D platformer that also allows players to dig through the world as they see fit! The game releases July 17th, 2025!
On top of this, Masahiro Sakurai returns to the Kirby series with Kirby Air Riders! That's right! After 20 years, Nintendo is finally bringing back Kirby Air Ride! Set to release sometime in 2025!
Additionally, Nintendo is creating a new sports game designed to show off the new Mouse Mode feature: Drag × Drive! This is a multiplayer basketball game played as a person in a wheelchair! Set to release Summer 2025!
Finally, Koei Tecmo is partnering with Nintendo again for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment! This game involves Zelda being sent back in time to the age of the Zonai! Set to release Winter 2025!
