Sydney's intercity railways!
NSW Trainlink “New Intercity Fleet” Under Test.
The New Intercity Fleet (NIF), captured on test runs. Soon to commence replacing both the Intercity V sets and Oscar H sets on services to Newcastle, Lithgow & Kiama.
The trains are being built by a consortium of Hyundai Rotem, UGL Rail & Mitsubishi Electric. The trains being built by Hyundai Rotem in South Korea.
There will be a total of 56 4 car & 55 6 car sets.
Industrial Relation issues have slowed the testing (& no doubt entry into passenger service), as the trains were built for “driver only” operation.

XPT service through Eastwood.
NT35, the 11.41am XPT service from Central to Grafton passes through Eastwood station in Sydney's northern suburbs. The train was led by XP2012, with XP2014 trailing.
XPT - Reflections
XPT services crossing Boambee Creek between Sawtell & Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales north Coast.
Boambee is on the North Coast Railway linking Sydney and Brisbane.
XPT services to Brisbane, Casino & Grafton pass in each direction each day.
XPT’s Hidden Coupler
A missing cover exposes an XPT power car’s emergency coupler, or at least part of it.
Based on its location & shape, some additional equipment is required!
