3. What is the rarest rare pair (that you ship)?
Admittedly, I'm not 100% sure what's considered rare in this fandom. I know Klapollo isn't (and I don't think Claypollo really is either; is the OT3 for them considered rare?), and that's my main ship. Trucy/Athena, maybe? I'm not sure how rare that is, but I like them together. (I also like Athena & Juniper together, and Trucy & Jinxie.) (Nahyuta and Blackquill aren't considered a rare pair either, are they? Ema/Kay?)

6. What is your most angsty ship?
Oh, Claypollo hands down. Listen, Clay dies before we ever get to meet him, and I'm convinced they had something going on. (Although I think I've mentioned before that they are very much like HiroRei to me, where even if they're not in love, they are absolutely soulmates, and sometimes I don't ship them romantically. But sometimes I do.)
21. Favorite thing you've ever created for a ship?
Unfortunately, I don't think I have any creations for any Ace Attorney ships, at least not that are accessible anymore. I did write for them for a couple of years (never published anywhere), but that was probably 2015ish, and I genuinely don't remember any of what I wrote. There may have been a nrmt soulmate AU somewhere in there, back when I still shipped them.

(In terms of 'thought of' but never got around to actually creating, I had a whole plot for a theoretical AA7 where Apollo gets arrested on attempted murder charges and the victim (who doesn't die) is Lamiroir. So there's that. But it was all in my head. Fun to think about, though. The Big Family Secret comes out in court in the worst way possible.)

idk, I'm kind of a "ship and let ship" sort of person. I guess closest would be Trucy/Apollo because. I just can't, sorry. Not shaming anyone who does ship them, though.

Why I like them.
So I didn't really care about Akai much at all until after he "died" and came back as Okiya (but mostly once he had a connection with Bourbon and it was revealed that it had nothing to do with Akemi, which is what I feared would be the case). At that point, his story actually intrigued me, and it didn't hurt that Okiya's main purpose seem to be as a troll these days. He amuses me.
Plus there's the fact that Aoyama intends for Akai to be this super cool elite sniper guy, but in actuality he just ends up being such a nerd, and I love that for him. (Okiya says he had a full first edition set of Holmes novels in the apartment that burned down, and I fully believe that was true.)
Why I don't.
As I said, I didn't love the Cool Elite Sniper Guy persona. It bored me a lot, and I didn't get the hype. To me, early Akai just comes off as Generic Action Hero, which is soooo boring.
I don't know if I have any reasons for not liking Okiya, other than that he takes time away that could be spent with Akai & Rei and whatever they have going on these days.

Favorite episode (scene if movie).
It's a toss-up between the Ferris wheel fight in M20, the ending credits scene in the same movie, where he sticks around to look for Rei, or the iconic M26 scene, at least as far as movies go.
Does it count as Okiya if he has the disguise on but is acting as Akai? Because the "fishing trip" with Conan, where he shoots the grenade is still so funny (and, regrettably, kind of cool).
Oh, also, everything about the Stage of Betrayal/Scotch's suicide case. He barely reacts at all to Rei saying he wants to kill him. In public.
Favorite season/movie.
Gotta be M20 overall. M26 has one good scene for Akai, M20 has a few.
(Okiya appears like once in a movie, so he doesn't really get an answer here. Default M18 win for him.)
Favorite line.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't really have one for either Akai or Okiya. Or anyone really. I don't really think about individual lines like that. Least favorite is any time he calls Conan "little boy" in the English movie dubs, though.
Favorite outfit.
Standard Akai Outfit, probably. The leather jacket works for him, and I don't even mind the beanie most of the time. It's better than how they draw his hair when the beanie's gone.
For Okiya... I think most of his outfits are pretty boring. But hey shoutout to wearing a turtleneck/high collar to the beach. Let's go with that one.

This is going to come as a surprise to literally nobody but Shuuichi & Rei, Rye & Bourbon, Okiya & Amuro, etc.

Shuuichi & Hiro would make such good platonic bros.

Headcanon.
Headcanons are always so difficult for me, because I'm pretty sure I don't have one that I haven't already talked to death.
I guess I'll say this: I think that being Okiya has given Akai a chance to figure himself out as a person. He sort of has actual free time for the first time since he was... 15 or so. He can't do FBI work most of the time. So I think he spends some time actually thinking about himself for once, and what he wants, once at the Organization is gone. And I think this has been good for him.
Unpopular opinion.
I don't know if this is unpopular but it certainly feels that way sometimes: the feminization/wife-ification of Akai is just as bad as the twinkification of Rei.
(And I'll just leave that thought there, because I could go on a whole rant, but I don't want to derail this post/bring in too much of my own personal salt.)
A wish.
More cases with Rei, please!! We've had exactly one panel in nearly eight years. (Movies, too, but maybe we'll get that with M30. We'll see.)
