Ya'll might think of me as a nut job, but i see them conservative extremists fear mongering every christian into thinking we 'must take power back again' because ' do you want to go back to the days of christian persecution?'

Buddy if the alternative to christian persecution was us having all the power in the world and that resulted in the world suffering even more because guess what happens when ppl get power , and then name of Jesus was used to justify any atrocity bc them leaders just feel like it ? Y'know like it happened some centuries ago?

Then i would take that persecution over that, that's what the Early Christians did , that's what Christians in the Middle East and other facist states are going thru Right Now, and i dunno if you know but when you signed up for christianity , but that's what God expects from you.

I dunno if you know this but any time something gets popular or of high status (ideology, religion etc.) , it tends to attract posers and fakes and that's like 90% of Christianity right now

The only good thing that happened for the christians back then was that the ones that were there, where there for real, because they had nothing to gain and everything to lose

What if any day now God decides he wants to allow that to happen again? (and it's still happening) You must be ready to take the challenge , Or are you afraid of death? Do you think you won't go to heaven ? I am afraid of death too, it's only natural, but i would be more afraid of going back to the days where the name of the Lord was spit on by those who claimed to follow him.

This whole 'take power' is foolish, christianity was never about power or status , or even happiness, it's about eternal life.

People really think nerds who love to learn and know things do it for some sort of power trip, or feeling better than others. My guy, knowledge and information is the trinket that gleams in the asphalt , and i am the crow that loves shiny things and WILL hoard bits and pieces in their nest, despite maybe never having a use for them

Do you ever think animals, especially the ones with the intelligence close to the one of a human, might have always been aware of who is God and that he is Lord, and could have never had those existential crisis of believing or not believing ? Like they just know, maybe a simple small fish (not very smart) would just see the Lord and instinctively know and bow. But maybe, if we could talk something smarter like a dog or a crow, they would say ' Yes i've always known who He is, y'all are the only ones who are too silly not to know'

But they would also say 'No, i'm not aware about what counts as right or wrong, but that's none of my business and not my burden, i'm here to vibe, that sounds like a you problem'

I know I’ve reblogged a lot of snark about Nolan’s Odyssey (which I haven’t even seen yet) but I’m of two minds about the film. Adaptations are tricky. They have to choose which aspects from the source material best fit the narrative they’re trying to tell on screen and maintain internal consistency to tell a coherent story. So I understand why people are pissy because it seems Nolan’s version lacks many of the core attributes of the Homeric poem.

But on the other hand, Nolan's films have always been big ideas and spectacle with a smattering of substance supported by excellent cinematography (Wally Pfister early on, now Hoyte van Hoytema) and a stellar Hans Zimmer score (recently Ludwig Göransson). He isn’t known for his writing. He doesn’t create robust, complex characters that feel lived in. What he does do is get good performers who elevate what’s on the page — Matthew McConaughey in Interstellar, Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, Robert Downey Jr in Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy in everything. For the most part his characters are more archetypes than humans with depth and nuance (we all know his female characters leave much to be desired).

So it isn't surprising that he didn't deliver on the narrative front. His recent films have been too long, bloated, and a rehash of the same type of story. Without a decent co-writer, his dialogue is even more stilted and expository. His films are entertaining and technically impressive but expecting anything other that is like going to the hardware store to buy oranges.

I know all this 'christian posting' and 'jesus fandom' , is just for the sake of fandom fun seen within a mythology lenses, and i know some of you will be worried about 'posers' or sumn, but keep in mind that eventually 1 or 2 people might actually understand the message of the Gospel and stay for real and that is a good thing :o)
