Not really an unpopular opinion irl, but it’s definitely one here on Tumblr.

Liking something in fiction or exploring it in fiction does not mean you approve of it irl, or that you’re “normalizing” it. Desensitizing, maybe, but being desensitized to something horrible doesn’t necessarily change your moral compass. You can look at a bloodied murder victim and be perfectly calm while also thinking “this isn’t good. Murder is bad”.
