Awesome Game's of the Year Candidates

This year is chalked with super sick titles that all of us are waiting for. I just wanted to know what everyone is looking forward to. Personally I'm looking forward to 3 games, besides the recent release of Mass Effect 3. Boarderlands 2, BioShock Infinite, and Farcry 3. Why?

Borderlands 2 because the original was one of the best times, on the recent gen systems that, I had with my friends. Plus the characters, setting and guns where total badass.

BioShock Infinite just because we brake free of the "10,000 leagues under the sea" feeling. I'm very interested to see what's the story with Elizabeth and why she is being hunted. The mechanics of the platform travel, leaping off high platforms and using a sky hook to 'roller coaster' your way to a much lower point, seems crazy awesome.

Farcry 3 just has ideas i love. i enjoyed Farcry 2's idea and the map editor was an awesome way to get into laying out levels. Honestly i hated having Malaria, because you needed the pills at the worst possible moment, but over all i liked the gun play, open maps and how you could start a forest fire with the press of a button.

ImPulse: FreeSpot, Team Fortress 2

     Today's free game is from Steam. So to get this game you'll have to go to steampowered.com and grab the Steam client. Its simple, go to the site, scroll 3/4th the way down the page and on the right there should be a green bar that says "Install Steam Now" or at the top in the right corner, same green box. Do the normal download thing and now you have a site that you can download game demos and in today's case, a free game. After you have it downloaded type in Team Fortress 2 into the search bar and begin the game download process.

     Today's free game is an awesome online shooter that's been around since the end of 2007. Its a cartoon-esq FPS with 9 different classes (Sniper, Demoman, Pyro) and a ton of guns. Each class gets 3 weapons: a unique primary weapon, a common or unique secondary weapon such as a shotgun or pistol respectively, and a distinct melee weapon in keeping with the character, such as a liquor bottle for the Demoman, a kukri for the Sniper, and a fire axe for the Pyro.there are a few standard modes like team deathmatch, capture the flag, control point (king of the hill) and payload (an escort mission where you drag a mine cart, filled with explosives, to the other teams base to detonate). Its and awesome game and has stood the test of time so go grab it and let us know what you think. I mean, what do you have to lose? Its FREE!!!

ImPulse: FreeSpot, Kingdom Rush

     Who doesn't like a nice tower defense game? simple, fun, and mostly mindless, perfect for boring days at work. Add the word FREE to that and you got a recipe for awesomeness. IGN awarded this game an impressive 9/10 for the iPad version but before it was a mobile game, gamers could play through the entire thing right in their browser. Why should you even bother? For one it sounds and looks great. Toss in a crap load of content expertly-balanced challenges, and your ready for a much better work day. Oh and like i said its FREE!!!

ImPulse: FreeSpot, Command & Conquer

     EA Games is a pretty big name in video game and along with that comes good and bad. A lot of the time people tend to focus on the bad, like the one online code per game, failure with Dragon Age 2, no new true Knights of the Old Republic, but good does come with it. In today's FreeSpot it comes in the form of Command & Conquer. This game is actually still decent, aside from game's incredibly campy and low-budget FMV cutscenes. but what are we to do it's FREE!!!

Skyrim DLC ideas from DICE 2012

    Todd Howard has no doubt been thinking with his team on ideas for Skyrim DLC. During the Vegas convention, DICE, Todd dropped a few ideas he, and his team came up with during a company wide creative session called Game Jam at the end of last year. this is what they came up with:

ImPulse: FreeSpot, Elder Scrolls: Arena

     How many of us are just emerging from our dark cave from playing nothing but Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? Some of us here at Impulse are with you. We also got word that Elder Scroll: Arena was kicked out for free. We love giving out free things and its even better when its a crazy learning experience. 1994 was over 15 years ago, so to see the difference between Skyrim and Arena is insane.

     Here at ImPulse and Nu Crue we love games, movies and music but what we love more is FREE games movies and music. About 15 years ago, Rockstar games came out with Grand Theft Auto. It wasn't as big as the newer ones but it was huge to some of us here at ImPulse. Today, Rockstar is giving back by offering GTA 1 to anyone who loves the old games for free.
