Color study
The amount. Of thoughts. I have about these two.
Started redrawing and old empires fanart I made, and while I'm not suuuper happy with the end result it’s nice to see the process.
Also! If any of the super talanted empires painters are still hanging around I'd appreciate some advice. There’s something about the colors that just doesn’t sit right but I can’t put my finger on what exactly it is and how to fix it.
WIP for a book cover for my fic No World Conquered, ya know, just cause. God was the coloring a pain, I have a new found respect for cover artists.
If any other artists care to weigh in with critique (especially on the colors) I would very much welcome it. I know it’s not finished yet but I’m not entirely sure how to continue atm.
I also realized way too late that I had straight up forgotten to add Cleo… so. That will eventually be changed

This is now the third(ish) year in a row where I've drawn the same design of Empires 1 Scott to review my art development. I'm not 100% happy with any of the pieces on their own, including this one - since I get into them with almost zero planning there are a lot of small and big mishaps that bug me, the background being a big one here. But this being a redraw, having a flawless painting is not really the goal. I see the progress I've made and know that one day I'll get it right.
Besides, this guy is a delight to paint.
