Dude seriously you love Quest 64?! It's one of my favorite games of all time! I always feel like it doesn't get enough love. It has a surprising amount of lore to it, and weirdly, the gameboy game expanded on it so much! I'm so excited I never get to meet people who love Quest omg...

The best part is I was never aware of how broken Fire and Earth were in terms of the skills/buffs they offered, so I guess every single time I played Quest 64 I was giving myself the Hard Route... I would always go far enough into Water to give myself Healing 1 or 2, then focus entirely on Wind (I ‘liked’ the Wind element more than the others, and Wind had early access to a multi-hit spell that always looked really cool to me). 

So, I would basically run around the entire game maxing out the Wind Element while struggling vs. anything that was resistant to it, then turn around and max out Water because “well I’d already put points in it earlier...”. I mastered how to physically dodge most attacks to compensate, but since your Evasion and Defense are LITERALLY raised through getting hit, I was unknowingly making things harder for myself that way as well.

Now I kinda REALLY want to find whether I’ve download it to my Wii (or if it’s available anywhere else easily accessible) and do a playthrough that’s a Fire/Earth mix with no Wind at all, while also actually READING the text now that I’m old enough to appreciate it.
