(anon if it breaks)
It's also worth pointing out that comparing the Areteice situation with Honeycutt is wrong because they're different in a number of other ways.
You did not start fights with Honeycutt on twitter or bluesky, only responded to the fights he wanted to start with you after ignoring it for ages first. Sai went and started a fight with Arteice on twitter on an unrelated post, which sent her followers after her, especially when she shared it in other spaces. Sai insulted Arteice's LGBT identity and accused her of not being LGBT enough to have commentary on LGBT themes.
Sai deleted her twitter (and later her side blog) to hide all of this so she can pretend it never happened, but she did in fact harass this woman unprompted outside of just commenting on her videos in her own streams or private spaces. And doing that encouraged her followers to do the same.
Honeycutt's video was made, what, a year after Jessie's video had already removed the misinformation with a retraction? Why did he need to call her out for something she'd already corrected so long after the fact? Why did he keep banging on about it for a year after that? His video got reach and implied to others that Jessie was spreading lies when she'd already taken action to correct her mistakes in the proper manner. And that's not getting into how much more aggressive he was to her and Aranock in comparison to the others he criticized in a video that was supposed to be about something else entirely. I've heard people make claims in other spaces that Jessie is a liar because Honeycutt's video got reach. The only reason I know who Arteice is or any of her views is because Sai kept going after her repeatedly.
It's just super disingenuous to claim that the two situations are the same, when there's so many elements that are different. It's not just "we can't punch down on smaller creators" it's "we have to take power imbalance into account when we criticize smaller creators and make sure that we aren't just punching down on someone we disagree with." They're just trying to formulate some excuse as to why you're a hypocrite so they don't have to self-reflect and realize that situations have nuance and context and there isn't always a black-and-white rule.
I got nothing to add here. Yeah, this absolutely adds a ton of context that is needed.
