ESTONIAN MOVIE MONTH
↳ “Nukitsamees” 1981 (Bumpy)
“Nukitsamees” is a family musical based on Oskar Luts’ story of the same name. A brother Kusti and sister Iiti get lost in a forest while picking strawberries. They are captured by an evil forest hag, who uses the two kids as slave labor - Kusti works around the farm and Iti looks after the hag's son, whom she names Bumpy due to the horn-like bumps on his head. When a chance to escape arises, the two kids take Bumpy with them.
Songs from the movie are very popular and have even been performed at the Song Festival and danced to at the Dance Festival.
The movie was digitally restored in 2010. “Üks on laisk ja teine on loll ja mina pean üksipäini rabama!” has one of the most iconic lines from the movie. During the shooting, it took a couple of days for Egert Soll to get used to and not cry when seeing the hag’s make up.
Bumpy was played by Egert Soll, Iti by Anna-Liisa Kurve, Kusti by Ülari Kirsipuu, Tõnn by Mihkel Raud, Moor by Ita Ever, mother by Ines Aru, father by Aarne Üksküla, grandfather by Sulev Nõmmik, Tölpa and Mõhk by Urmas Kibuspuu and Tõnu Kark.
Watching good old Nukitsamees on new years day and I'm hella nostalgic

Our little band of animators' entry for a contest event held last November, derailing and spoofing the living daylights out of the locally iconic Nukitsamees film, James Cameron and the film industry in general~
Should be safe enough to upload now, since the exhibitions are all done and over. Story/idea by Sven and Vesse, sketch/lineart by myself and colours/lettering by Mattias.
