Wearing ‘Cosmos’ by House of Bō out today. Very deep smoky, slightly sweet incense fragrance. The bitterness of the cocoa is rounded out by the initial soft sweetness of the praline and that boozy aged whiskey served on a metal tray. Dragons blood is my favorite incense fragrance, so of course I had to make a little bit of a ritual of it and get that burning while trying to understand her.

And I really do get her.

Not a true gourmand, more woody and leathery. I think in that true space fashion, it’s not cold like you’d expect. It’s more like… the night, a time when space becomes most visible to us. Warm bodies touching that darkness in a too-familiar way. There’s a bit of mystery there, too, boldly adventuring out into the depth, accepting its embrace.

Sample declutter day <3 ; parting scents will be given out and maybe traded, so that’s exciting. My friends may not be as into fragrances as I am, but it’s a piece of me they may enjoy.

Devastated that I was not able to make it over to my local perfumery this week, I read the closing time wrong and thought it said 6:30 instead of 2:30. It closed thirty minutes after I was scheduled off from work so it was simply not feasible.

I even made a nice list of things to bring to the owner, samples to try, a list of scents I was curious about, a list of scents I was curious to see if they’ll could order in. Ugh!!!

I plan to drop by next Thursday :”) fingers crossed.

My House of Bō samples came in today!!! I need to spend more time with each of them, but I purchased Casa Blanca, Espíritu, and Cosmos (which I’m the most excited for… it’s the astrobiologist in me I’m sure)

Last night I wore Casa Blanca post shower and to bed. It’s very clean, a fresh milky floral on my skin. I don’t get a lot of that smoke and leather, but the floral vanilla and fig just feels so incredibly luxurious in a way I’m definitely not used to? I can see house some people read it a very cologne-like, due to its freshness, but to me it does read very unisex, and that’s coming from someone who’s been on Testosterone for years.

It’s popular for a reason, but I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did due to it being out of my normal scent circle. I’d wear again, surely, but not often because I find nothing about it speaks to me right now, maybe because it’s cold and bitter outside right now, and I’m yearning for a toasty rich fragrance. Maybe I’d much prefer to smell this on someone else!

Pigmentarium's 'Erotikon' is SUCH rich, lightly spiced sweet gourmand on my skin. I'm definitely not like, a huge fan of chocolate as a note. It's indolic, obviously, which unfortunately to my nose comes off fecal and animalic in a lot of cases- but Erotikon does not really give that to me! Its a very soft, sweet tonka-musk on the drydown for my skin- only really smelling that indolic chocolate upon first spray.. my one single gripe, is that it reallyyy doesn't last as long as what I normally go for!! I use it as a nighttime scent, and goddd I wish I could wake up to smelling it </3 Definitely an up-close-and-personal scent rather than out-and-about
