in 2012 and 2013, marc jacobs released the fragrances, "dot" and "honey" that were based on ladybugs and bees respectively. i think they're just so wonderful!! especially dot! i never even knew there were non-daisy fragrances (besides perfect) with fun and intricate bottles so it's doubly interesting to me.
dot - fruity, but not "photorealistic"; it still smells like a perfume. i really like the dry down. it's very fresh and sweet! more clearly sweet than the beginning. i think i like this a lot, although i haven't smelled it on my skin or for an entire day yet. but the bottle is to DIE FOR!! it's just so beautiful. and very large. ( ◜‿◝ )♡
top notes: red berries, honeysuckle, dragonfruit
heart notes: jasmine, coconut water, orange blossom
base notes: musk, driftwood, vanilla
honey - like something that would attract bees! probably! i haven't tried this in real life, but it sounds nice. besides the fact that honey scents smell like piss to me (not on me, just, like, to my nose. but i've never tried a honey frag out of fear. honey lip balms or moisturizer are just very indolic).
top notes: pear, fruit punch, mandarin orange
heart notes: honeysuckle, orange blossom, peach
base notes: honey, woods, vanilla
so anyways, this got me thinking about other bug themed scents that could have been in this line. there was "violet" and "pink honey". violet was butterfly themed, seemingly, but i don't really like it... so here are other marc jacobs bug perfume ideas!
flutter - butterfly themed! the inspo was very clear in my mind. mostly centered around blossom flowerpot's pet butterfly from lalaloopsy! colors are pink and green. it would smell very sweet and light, the notes also fit the color scheme! ah i just love this, it's all so cute and sweet and delicate! <33
top notes: white peach, honeydew, pink guava
heart notes: daisy, rose cake, apple blossom
base notes: vanilla, simple syrup
inch - worm themed! i also thought about caterpillars, but those are just baby butterflies. so worms it is! i think apples were the obvious choice for the theming. i think dirt would make an excellent note in this, but that doesn't seem to be the marc jacobs style... i still like this a lot, it's bright and punchy and fun!
top notes: apple, lemon, basil
heart notes: carrot, orange, rhubarb
base notes: cedarwood, sugar
so, i think i like the designs i made... maybe i'll make more later! :3
