IV. The Emperor: Nero Arnaud

Age: 23

Origin: Shadow, Kingdom of Apollo

Family: Sister (Lila, 19)

Despite being undeniably handsome, Nero's pride is his greatest asset. He is one of the only ground, hand-to-hand combatants in the Major Arcana, and also one of the most violent. As a young age, Nero was beaten mercilessly by his father, Henri Arnaud, and his mother, Clarice Arnaud (who was desperate for her husband's love and affection), did nothing to stop it. Nero grows harshly, and only shows any affection for his sister. When Lila was twelve, Henri raped her, and upon finding out, Nero clawed his father to death in the middle of the night. His mother, who awoke to find her husband in shreds and Nero responsible, attempted to flee and have Nero incarcerated for his misdeeds. In a fit of rage, Nero downed his mother as well, leaving himself to be imprisoned for the murder of both of his parents. He was sixteen. 

Up until Callus's takeover, he awaited his trial and inevitable execution in Titania's remote prison, The Titania Stronghold. When creating the Major Arcana, Callus freed him, though he only allowed him to live if and only if he served Callus's every word. Nero did not argue, and returned to Shadow where Lila waited for him. He was branded The Emperor when he joined, the fourth member of the Arcana. Only Lila seems to hold any control over him, because he'll often descend into blackout rages, an effect of his father's brutal murder. She insists he take his anger out on the battlefield only, a suggestion he tries to practice. Both he and Lila are haunted by Henri. Oftentimes, it seems as though Nero is talking or arguing with himself. On a routine mission to the borders around Zephyr, Nero purchased a pet Eagle, Devi, in an attempt to protect himself from his father. A metal claw was fashioned for him to use in battle. 

He is very well aware that Li loves him, but he scorns her repeatedly.
