Nurse life
As a nurse there is nothing more rewarding than sitting down at the end of your shift and writing progress notes that say: 'Nil signs of infection' 'Obs within normal ranges' 'Full diet tolerated' 'BGL within normal range' 'Pt appears in good spirits' 'Pt voided' 'BO' And so on. Because at the end of the day... That means your pt is starting to get better or they are getting back to their normal selves. Or it means that at some point in your pts hospital stay, something went right. Some how we are helping people. And ultimately that's what we want. We want our pts healthy, happy and well on their way to recovery. That is out goal, in the meantime we will stand by you when you are vomiting, shitting yourself, stressing, over eating, under eating, bleeding, crying and anything else that might come our way. But when we get good progress notes we know... You'll be ok. Also, it makes progress notes sooo much shorter :) which means we get home to our families quicker ;)
