Yova rambles

based on the question by @mousi-moo I choose that my MC travelled soooo far to Eridia, "Half the damn globe baybee!"

Born and raised in the tropics, no winter ofc.

Growing up was a rollercoaster ride, lots of good and bad days.

Sadly it has to end, the whole community forced to run away from their home via ship (yeah they're too crazy that they risked dying in the sea in TS apocalyptic world).

Kinda end of her hound chapter btw

A storm hits the ship (ofc), stuff happens, bad luck so Yova got yeeted out of the ship,

then she kinda drown, luckily not luckily she got stranded on some random place so she survives.

Exile-background inspired chapter starts here.

Her hometown was located in some archipelago, she got beef with some mayor and their cronies there.

So she and her group are fugitives, got bounty over their head.

Due to her 0 luck (didn't die immediately after drowning, ends up surviving, etc) she got hunted by several times- because most of the time she encountered that kind of village. Where the villager thinks, people who are not human enough = demon or witch, or else = must be hunted down no matter what.

Has several names or aliases, crossdress several times.

She wanders here and there, where everything was colder, etc.

Eventually she met The Hermit.

Experienced her first winter after she met The Hermit.

Got sick so bad immediately.

One of her dumbest choice was to shower fully during the coldest winter.

Because she can't stand feeling dirty

Got even more sick.

Hates cold weather so much more after that.

Got depressed over not-spiced enough food.

The Hermit was so done with her, but still tolerates.

and stuff, etc etc

At least she lived in exile for some years, so pass few winter.

so she won't be so shocked with Eridia's winter.

Minor Demo Spoiler!

This post will be quite long so bear with me haha/sorry Also I made a playlist based on her! Feel free to check it out Dangling Dicentra I originally write her as a Hound, but the backstory is gone now. So I feel the need to revamp her.

But, I think it's possible to use The Exile backstory as a continuation from The Hound chapter. I'll post some screenshot :

So it will be like :

MC was raised by the society's outcast

MC became a thief

MC got betrayed by their childhood friend who is also their partner in crime

Not just betrayal, but they pulled some strings that led MC being exiled from the thief syndicate

Fortunately during MC exile phase, they met the Hermit who actually help them

They managed to bond, but again MC was left alone again because he (hermit) died.

So I like to imagine MC backstory like Chapter 1 : The Hound Chapter 2 : The Hound's Exile Back to Yova I will make her lore similar to this plotline. Because before the demo update, I did plan to write her as an adopted child. Born as a human, but cursed and the living condition didn't make it better. Because the society around her is highly conservative yet superstitious, also patriarchal in most districts. The small town she lived was ruled by an authoritarian regime. There will be themes of dictatorship, corruption ,suppression, and divided factions. I still need to do more research to make this make sense. The shitty regime was based on ꦆꦤ꧀ꦢꦺꦴꦤꦺꦱꦶꦪ shitty government during sometime in 60 years ago hahahaha- (Intentionally mentioned my country in Javanese script because I'm trying to be subtle ) Throughout her years growing up, she will find her group of friends. But her hands will never make them fully accept her. At first they were those typical thief within the market who steals food and basic necessity. As they grew older, they got recruited by the district's shady business guild, stealing specifically heist become their important side gig. But due to the regime's incompetence, some rebel group sprouts and they demand revolt or coup. You get the idea. And these teenagers with adrenaline addiction thought "Let's join the rebels! it'll be fun and cool". Long-story short their action threatens their district's safety, and at some point the grown-ups, mostly elders had enough of them. This conservative + superstitious + patriarchal culture makes her the perfect scapegoat. So she will get exiled because one of her friends pulled some strings and snitched on her. Then the people around her was like "yea we have enough of this bitch and her bad omen, kick her out!" Personality wise, I haven't explored her that much. She is bitchy af and rude on people who are rude to her, but can be nice and kind if you do the same. But is also bitchy around her friends. Don't cross her boundaries or she will kick you hard. Killed a man once accidentally, second in act of self defense, the third due to pent up anger and the guy tried to harm her crush (girlie need a therapy, I know)

in her hometown, the average population height was around 5" Male 164 cm (5"3), and Female 150cm (4"9) I write this because it matters in her lore. Her height was one of the reasons people try not to pick fight with her. Because 160cm (5"24) is considered too tall for a women there. Other than that it's also because she's a rabid one with a foul mouth. Surprisingly can act well when needed, only on a fairly short time tho.

This post for context Most people in her hometown are religious but fears ghost and demons (syaiton/dedemit/lelembut in their language). Most of the beings in their folklore are gendered as female 💀 (Kutilanak, Kuyang, Sundal Bolong, Noni Jembatan Kaliwangi). One of the huge rumors surrounding her was "she's definitely a demon's child! You know when you get a peek of her hands!" "Don't kill her! because your descendants will be cursed for eternity!" yeah despite living in a decaying world most people here still care about bringing innocent babies because ✨culture and "allmother" told us to do so✨
